Nepal's political leaders fail to recognize the medical services in Nepal

Recently Nepal's President went to Japan for medical check up of a disease which never existed, Prachanda the so called political went to Singapore to treat his wife's illness. Similarly, Sushil Koirala was seen visiting US for medical purpose.  If you look at Nepal's Scenario there are more than 10 dozens of hospitals available ranging from services and technology available in the city area where as on contrary to that
due to extreme rural life, city doctors often do not visit rural areas. In fact Nepal's 90% of the doctors operate only in the cities and yet Nepal's nearly 90% of the population lives in rural areas.

Nepal Health Facts :

  • Population per doctor in Nepal is about 18,000
  • One hospital bed for every 5000 people
  • Nearly 90% of the women in Nepal give birth at home and most of them suffer pregnancy complications
  • Probability of children dying before the age of 5 : 83%
  • Half the health workers in Nepal have abandoned their health posts due to food supplies run out
  • Nepal's annual population growth rate is about 2.3%
  • 92 children die every day from treatable diarrhea
  • Life expectancy at birth is 61%
  • About 35% use family planning
  • Among the illnesses affecting humanity, lack of safe water stands out as the most important factor responsible. Nepal's most cities don't have safe drinking water.

At a point when political leaders and head states are going abroad for medical check up  what can we ascertain from the current medical service available in the country.

It is a disgrace to have leaders like these who don't believe in their own country's medical development. How can we trust people like these who don't trust others.
Leadership is not just about ruling and power, its about being role model and showing people a way of life. If a leader adapts a lavish life in a state where his own country lack to recognize basic health facilities then its a disgrace to the political scenario.................

where should a normal Nepali  go Mr President and Mr leader...............

Gathemangle a festival to celebrate

Gathemangle is a traditional festival of the newars. On the day a special dish – Samaya- of garlic, onion, flattened, meat, and beans is served at homes. Dummies of the demons are erected at street crossroads. People place pots of cooked rice at such intersections for him. A man wearing black and blue paint all over his body goes about begging for money. At the end of the day, the dummy is dragged to the nearby river bank for disposal with the painted man sitting on it. !" People offer the dummy food and meat.
On this day, houses are cleaned and dirt is dumped outside in the night, symbolic of throwing evils away from the residences. After cleaning the houses, Bou, a special set of food, is offered to the spirits, followed by hammering three-legged iron nails at the main entrance of the houses to keep evil spirits away.
People wear iron rings to prevent them from the devil Ghanta Karna who devours humans, especially children.

This festival celebrates the exorcism of the mythical demon Ghantakarna that haunted the villages and city. According to a local legend  Ghantakarna was a Demon that terrorized  the public by stealing their children and womenfolk. The demon was marked with  painted body in red, blue, and black and had bells on his ears. due to these bells, he was called Ghanta (bell) Karna (ears).

The festival is celebrated by acting out the legendary drama in the streets. To begin with, children from every neighborhood collect money from passerby, which is then used to make an effigy of the demon. While this effigy remains in the center of a rough tent-like structure erected from bamboo poles, one man impersonates Ghantakarna by smearing himself with paint and roaming the streets with a begging bowl asking for donations. At the end of the day, the person imitating Ghantakarna is placed on the bamboo poles, now taken down, and is dragged to a nearby river. This colorful festival, though celebrated mostly only in the Newar community, is especially fun-filled for children. They run around the effigy laughing gaily and enjoying them thoroughly.

During this festival people worship and offer sacrifices to demons, serpents and other supernatural and natural elements like wind, water and fire since time of inceptions to get rid of evil powers and the legendary demons.

Political Culture of Nepal

What an irony, the political leaders of Nepal who proved to be incapable of bringing out the constitution in past are again in the bid to participate in the same league. With bad reputation and negligible attitude of not being responsible this is one of the most amazing thing that after wasting so much of money (15 Billion approximate) and resources, they still are willing to stand up for the election. It is pity that Nepal's political leaders seriously lack a political culture.

Constituent Assembly was established without preparation and in lack of proper political culture Nepal’s political leaders pushed it towards the edge of uncertainty and chaos.

Now getting back to the topic, what will be the difference, if the same people participate? At least they should have the courage to forward new names for the new constituent assembly.
But we all know this is not going to happen because power and hierarchy rules Nepal’s politics. If there is an opportunity probably the same leaders will be nominated and there will be no difference.

In this election if there is a possibility there is a possibility for the King supporter to win as till date we have seen the revolutionary force, the so call democratic forces and other agitating power but sadly none of them could perform. They all limited themselves to power politics, corruption, manipulation and other aspect of externalities which degraded the political presence and status.

Federalism was adopted by forces and still today people are in confusion of the definition and what they want for themselves and the country at large. In this confusion people has liberated themselves of any pressure and annotation. This year only the Nepal government 2,96,01,14,00,000.00 this will probably amaze you but this is true, we all pay taxes that exceeds any other country in the world and still we have nothing. This is the currently political status of country that is trying to emerge its way out…………..

Isn't it a perfect example of Bad political culture ..................

Young girls at risk of managing their sexuality

Young girls from around the world are in a crisis of managing their SEXUALITY, the current open environment of internet and the psychology of care free attitude has proven to be one of the biggest hindrance for young girls.

From US to Australia, girls of less age group are getting pregnant in different parts of the world. Most of them are seen being students of high school who have the knowledge of sex but still the percentage of young girls are getting pregnant around the globe is in high trend.

Some group of people reason it due to lack of awareness, some due to lack of use of contraceptives but there is a group of people who have been blaming it to the Fashion industry. The local fashion industry has been targeting young girls as their target which has established themselves to be vulnerable group in relation to their sexuality. The industry promotes and sells clothes and style  attracting girls to replicate their style.  The adolescent girls fall prey to the care free attitude of modernity where unknowingly they start to promote sexuality through what they wear where they become vulnerable to weak sexuality.

"After puberty girls are in a state of  exploring their sexuality, its human nature to  attract but when the young girls wear less clothes and are very loud make up then it attracts the attention of their counterpart which then results in unwanted sex. Wearing less clothes highlighting their  curves and  wearing high makeups certainly makes these girls think and get perky about their sexuality," Sam Rays a psychologist adds, "These young girls are in the process of exploring their sexuality, when they see  the model and  fashion industry promote nudity and less clothes, they, in their interest of looking good  adapted that but on the other side they also prepare themselves unknowingly. They adapt and focus more towards spending more time in thinking as well as learning about the freedom of Human behavior. Humans have evolved with the  laws of sexuality, our race has grown this old become of the attraction and sex which cannot be undermined. our minds are very active in everything we do we are result oriented. Nature has made our mind body and soul with first intention of mating and reproducing which makes us more vulnerable, specially with the nudity and makeup."

On one hand blaming the fashion industry is not just a ways out, the Feminist group or women activists have been terming this as a domination of the male society, where the Father or man leads the life of a girl and when she grows her husband leads her life . To some extent this statement is justifiable but  giving full rights to a teenage girls and having her pregnant at 13 is not an option. It is not justifiable in any case scenario.

Highlighting this especially in US most of the community churches have been practicing the purity oath that pledges a girl to stay virgin till the times she gets married. It is right or wrong but it certainly saves a girl from being pregnant which to some extent is  justifiable.
Pregnancy rate world wide

In USATeen Pregnancy Prevention 2010–2015 has been launched . As part of the Teen Pregnancy Prevention Initiative (TPPI), CDC is partnering with the federal Office of the Assistant Secretary for Health (OASH) to reduce teenage pregnancy and address disparities in teen pregnancy and birth rates. The OASH Office of Adolescent HealthExternal Web Site Icon (OAH) is supporting public and private entities to fund medically accurate and age appropriate evidence-based or innovative program models to reduce teen pregnancy. The purpose of this program is to demonstrate the effectiveness of innovative, multicomponent, community wide initiatives in reducing rates of teen pregnancy and births in communities with the highest rates, with a focus on reaching African American and Latino/Hispanic youth aged 15–19 years. A community wide model is an intervention implemented in defined communities (specified geographic area) applying a common approach with different strategies. Communitywide approaches will be tailored to the specified community, and will include broad-based strategies that reach a majority of youth in the community (i.e., through communication strategies and media campaigns); and intensive strategies reaching youth most in need of prevention programming (i.e., through implementation of evidence-based programs and improved links to services).

CRUX
I believe no matter what  men and women both have equal rights, but with the unnecessary freedom of getting a young girl pregnant is not an excuse. I believe today's fashion industry is all about creating a buzz they will and do everything to make a woman nude and get the attention. Their role and impact is just limited with in  their popularity where the alternative affect of it is seen as young girls exploring their sexuality which cannot be overlooked. Fashion is about looking good and comfortable, its not about making your self nude and faking its to get fake attraction.

A girl should be educated and given every rights but she should be protested from every vulnerabilities till the time she can think and understand for herself .

Facts about Bhoomika Kochhar's Case

Bhoomika Kochhar who recently committed suicide on June 15, 2013 is a clear case of Women Exploitation and Domestic Violence. Especially looking at it from the angle of  women exploitation then its a case that can teach us so much about the role of domestic violence and abuse.

Bhoomika Kochhar and Akaash Jatia fell in love with each other at Boston University where they both studied for four years under the college's undergrad programme in 2006. With family disagreement and hesitation, they got married on January 2011. After the marriage, Bhoomika, a resident of Muttontown in New York, shifted to Nepal to live with her in-laws. Their marriage was going through rough edges where Bhoomika was unhappy and depressed.

Domestic Violence (Crime and Punishment) Act, 2066 (2009) of Nepal says, ""Domestic Violence means any form of physical, mental, sexual and economic harm perpetrated by person to a person with whom he/she has a family relationship and this word also includes any acts of reprimand or emotional harm."

Similarly, the Interim Constitution of Nepal, 2063 (2007) prohibits physical, mental or any other form of Violence against Women (VAW) and declares that such acts shall be punishable by law [Article 20(3)]. It also incorporates a separate article recognizing that women’s rights, including reproductive rights, are fundamental. The Interim Constitution recognizes the right to equality as a fundamental right. It provides that all citizens are equal before law [Article 13(1)].

According to the Kochhars, “They claim to spend over $2 million in dowry till date. Bhoomika was physical and mental tortured despite this. She was willing to end her relationship and come back to the US,"

Section 3 (1) of Social Behaviour (Improvement) Act of Nepal states that noone will take or give dowry. Dowry is illegal but its practice is very common in Nepal, especially in Madhesh where marriage is a pompous affair and dowry an integral part of the wedding ceremony.

"Bhoomika was a well educated and sensible person who under such domestic circumstances committed suicide. She left her family  and opportunity for her husband and became a Nepali citizen. She was mentally and psychologically pressured with high notion of intention where she landed herself to depression in absence of support and love. Her emails clearly state that she was ignored and suppressed by her mother in-laws expectation and needs, where overcoming the verbal abuses and ignorance was a torture for her. One cannot imagine her psychological state in regards to the happenings and her state of mind.Though her act doesn't justifies the wrong that was happening to her but it highlights the current trend of dowry and psychological pressure that a woman goes through in a family after marriage," said Sajina Karki a Lawyer.

According to the Police, " Due to the complication of the case there are many hurdles where the we have not been able to intervene in the case for instance  bhoomika's suicide was reported after the body was taken to the Hospital, so the we are not sure about the position and posture of the suicide. We have to completely  rely on the autopsy  report. Police have confirmed that they have received three copies of the FIR that Bhoomika’s father had lodged on different dates. In absence of the bhoomika's Father the police is not able to further investigate properly in the case."

we keep our mouths shut

Everyday we think about the change and do nothing. We just think change is something that ought to happen instantly without any effort. we just lay our efforts with in the comforts of  our vision where we think but we don't act. In reality we just accuse or throw words or blame others, but we forget that when we point one finger at others four fingers point at us.
It’s said that “don’t hate the game hate the players;” likewise, Nepal’s politics today has turned into a garbage; a garbage full with pollutants of selfishness, corruption, and Hypocrites.
Whether it’s Nepali Congress or UML or the Maoist party, there is not a single politician or leader who could be respected or worth getting the respect. All of them, they are so limited and bounded by their selfish motives and games that they forget they are the servants of public. More or less, they indulge themselves to luxury of cars and securities with the hard earned money of tax payers and citizens disgracing their oath of serving public.

In fact reality is Politician is such a respectable image where we confine our believes and aspirations,  we trusts the leaders to play a crucial role in overall development of the country but till date we have just seen them engaging themselves in corruption, power politics, commission rackets, favoritism, social discrimination, lobbing selfish motives, accumulating people money in foreign banks etc .
I bet there is no politician who would be respected from heart by any one. They disgrace the societal values of socialism where they take the oath of serving the nation but alternately support their individual party in strengthening their forces and power.
The problem here is not with the leaders, the problem here is with us the normal people, we select these leaders and when they get to power, they play and manipulate us in their desired ways but we keep our mouths shut. We just move to their rhythm where they treat us like nobody.

I say and believe every Nepali has the bloody right to ask each of these leaders about what they did and what they are planning to do coz it’s our Nation and we are the tax payers.  As we pay taxes in everything from buying a chocolate to sewage to cold drinks, everything but still we are least bothered group.  Moreover, the hard earned money completely goes in vain paying hefty salaries and comforting their luxury. It’s our responsibility to remind them of their mistakes where we lack.
We ignore e the fact that we pay taxes and it’s our RESPONSIBILTY to see what is happening and to validate their actions but we don’t have time.  Likewise, we blame everything upon them which is completely erratic and irresponsible, as they are selected by us. We do protests; do blockades, Chaka Jam, Bandhas etc on useless things but regarding our politicians and their acts we keep silence making it limited within the voices of an unknown tables and chairs.

The fascinating part is we say politics is a dirty game, but it’s our garbage. Just by saying it’s bad or disgracing it, things won’t change. We have two choices either we keep our mouths shut and let the things that’s happening go on or do something about it in any way possible.  It’s upon our efforts and we need to dig our hands into the garbage and clean it, because it our garbage and nobody else is coming to clean it we have to do it by ourselves.

We the young blood the so called generation-X needs a wake up call and say that yes we are determined not just to blame but to take charge. We have to take responsibilities in every possible way of being a good citizen and work our way in the system. It might take days or years, but change is supposed to happen and it will happen no matter what. We have the skills and courage and let’s unite to bring change.

This is not just a call for me, you or anyone, it’s a call for every Nepali who feels pride to say he or she is Nepali and if you care about it spread the awareness and save our nation. Let’s take the promise to bring change not just by words but by social awareness and by social change where our small effort counts and each individual matter to say that he or she is a part of this society and we can play a crucial role for the development of our country. Let’s make Nepal a better Nepal for the coming generation to be proud of where we can hold our heads high to say we brought the change.

Shree Rai, "This is major case of negligence, the journalists of Nepal need  to abide by their code of conduct. An answer for Sufyan bin Uzayr

Mr Sufyan bin Uzayr in his article his article  Nepal: The View from The Top Is Not Pretty writes, "Nepalese economy is marred more by the disparity in income and poverty, as well as cultural issues.Nepal is situated right below where Tibet used to be (and while we are at it, also slightly near to the Kashmir region), and I hate to sound so pessimistic, but you have another historical contentious issue in the making between India and China.Sadly, the majority of the Nepalese people do not understand or grasp this fact; as a result, environment-damaging practices continue unaffected and unhindered."

What Mr. Sufyan bin Uzayr has written to some extent is a limited edition of what is available in the websites. I would probably say it as a immature writing. I think his research needs to be more refined in aspect of reality and what's really happening?

Nepal is an under developed country and for every good reason, it is trying its best in managing its economy where tourism and foreign revenue are a huge boost to its support.
Due to its geographical location and diplomatic relations, it is bound to limit its opportunities and other endeavors. The reach of Internet and telecommunication is growing, similarly education rates have gone up, various awareness programs are breaking the orthodox tradition of women related issues,
local villages are transforming into business centers, this is not just an example of where Nepal is leading but one can visualize the efforts.  One thing what Mr Uzayr needs to understand is Nepal is not an ordinary terrain like India, Nepal has a vivid wide terrain which makes it beautiful as well as challenging from all sides.

Looking at its Natural resource capacity, its water resources is its strength where especially if you look at the current scenario, Indian state is exploiting the broader treaty by making dams on its borders and taping the water resources drowning and causing unwanted flooding in Nepal's Region.

Apart from that technically looking at Nepal, Nepal has been a play ground for various super powers like the US, European union, Indian state, China etc not just to counter each other but moreover the vested interest prolongs with the regional diplomacy to business exploitation to other strategies and other issues of concern.

Likewise, if you look at the political scenario, the so called Maoist Revolution( people's war) that took the country to a new phase has been an important part of learning for Nepal's Politically upfront. Corruption, favoritism, Nepotism, etc has gone up but on contrary the country is moving in the path of no discrimination which counts. Moreover, Nepal has been declared as a secular country.

Nepal's leaders have been hugely influenced by the India strategy where the out-casting of the monarch was a conspired plan to make Nepal vulnerable.
Time and again the interference of the regional diplomats in the territorial strategy and other issues have topped newspapers which can be researched online.

Regarding climate change, UK funded projects like Xtreme Everest are being carried out in the Everest region for the sake of Humanity. May be Nepal has not been able to grow and show its power but it has been facilitating many countries in proving their economies and consolidating their pride of being powerful.

Nepal certainly is the youngest republican country which deserves its share of presence and independence. If only the regional and diplomatic concern could stop interrupting and its leaders could understand the values of its sovereignty then Nepal can stand proud with its new image...

US Hypocrisy with PRISM

Today’s world war is not about how many fighter planes, tanks and nuclear missiles you have, today’s war is about  how you can control your enemy’s strategy entering or hacking your opponents system and making them obsolete knowing their strategy.

The US PRISM program under the national security is the loudest example of United States's HYPOCRISY infiltrating and monitoring  the world. United states being one of the top most superpower  monitoring and hacking the world wide web in the name of national security is just unjustifiable. The US National Security Agency (NSA) has been continuously monitoring each and every content with the help of super computers in tracking and tracing your audio, video, photographs, emails, documents, and connection logs.

The surveillance is done in association of major leading webs portals like Microsoft, Yahoo, Google, Facebook, PalTalk, AOL, Skype, YouTube, and Apple. The organization have been compelled to disclose all the information with regards to the national security.

Right to privacy is not just a question of human right but its an objective of ethics.

In fact its high time to take stand for what has been going on. Compromising privacy in the name of security is not just a malpractice but is a concern that can bring inevitable consequences. From National security to personal data to frauds anything and everything is possible, which cannot be imagined, the consequences depend upon the intentions of the US and the objective of why this surveillance has been set up. Lapse of right of privacy not only make us weak and vulnerable but it is a weak practice of  internet governance that showcases weak moral values...............

with such rooted actions US capabilities are just limited within the values of what US stands for. Power stands with the weakness of what being laid down upon what it stands........................

CYBER WARFARE IS THE next level game of super power and diplomacy......................

what will happen in this country..........

During the period, the Department has distributed 48,816 ordinary passports, 154 special passports, and 52 diplomatic passports, said Deputy Spokesperson at the Ministry, Dr. Durga Bahadur Subedi.

As many as 39,000 youths have taken labour permit for foreign employment in the same period. Similarly, the Ministry has taken initiatives for promoting economic diplomacy, according to Subedi.

After reading this news, I was seriously bound to think why so much of brain drain is happening and why the Nepal government is doing nothing. It is a serious issue of Human migration that needs to be tackled or else the country will be emptied.

A majority of this work group try for work opportunities in the middle east and other go abroad in search of better future. No matter what  my question to all is why are we lacking to understand reality of searching better future abroad when we all know that working abroad or life is not easy. I will not say its worth it but why to waste the most valuable time of your life abroad when you can make changes and do something for your own country. May be I  am being unpractical in this aspect in regards to the ideology of people trying abroad, but when you know life abroad is tough and hard then why go through it?

Can you imagine in just a month 39,000 passport have been issued that means a huge number of the productive youths are trying to go out of the country. If this youth force goes out then who and what will run the country. The question again hinders, there is no answer to it. Understanding the theme to the meaning of saying "this country has been run by pasupatinathi" proves to fit perfectly in this scenario.

Reality is with limited job opportunities, worst government practices and a hypocritical trend of going abroad  the youth of Nepal are bound to search for better options. There is no security, no future prospect, the country's system is fully corrupted and politics is ruling all field, then what to expect, is what they say.

Young people  have skills, education and capacity but they don't have opportunity is reality but understanding the fact opportunities has to be created. The saying where there is a will there is a way is the answer to the solution to all questions and allegations.

It's your right to go any where int he world but you have no right to accuse or blame once you leave the country..............................

Nepal in way of making a republican nation

Five years back, we dethroned monarchy system in Nepal with the aspirations of creating a better Nepal, but still after facing years of trial and error method, the country has not been able to evolved from the treacherous influence of communism. 16,000 people lost their lives which have proven to be worthless, and there is no  rule of law. For what did we  faced the struggle is my question.

We removed one king and today we have thousand kings who live among their  people ruling and terrorizing the public with their criminal approaches and strategies.

What more can you expect and find within a country that survived civil war and trying to make its way through development. The struggle of the past decade has pulled the country backward in every aspect of its management and operation, where we have become slaves of foreign donation and aid. Nepal's development efforts have just been limited towards utilizing the foreign aid. We have emptied our homes community and towns sending our brothers and sisters to foreign countries in view of earning money.

What can we do? There is no security for normal public, the rates of women violence has gone up, crime rates have gone up and criminals in association of politicians are legalizing their status what more worst can you expect. You acquire a degree and there are no jobs, the government policies weak in every aspect of providing employment opportunity.

There is a saying that says, “If you put cold water in between hot water then gradually the cold water changes into hot.” I have always tried to relate this scenario with our country which hold its image among the giant super power India and China. But reluctantly I know the reality that Nepal cannot develop with such political leaders and political culture that professes the ideology of party politics, corruption, nepotism etc.

Even at government administration level the situation has worsen so much that the governance or leadership of the government has been handed over to the bureaucracy which is leading the country nowhere. How is it possible in a democratic country that reflects the image of Republican have a prime minister with no consensus? It’s like the jungle rule that influences the government with money, power and corruption. The difference in between the haves and haves not is increasing more, the country faces huge economic crisis in coming days.

Reality of today, Nepal was made Republican in retrospective of the political aspirations that influenced the strategy of divide and rule. Nepal being a republican makes a clear platform for the foreign power players to play their games, it is just their strategy that challenges the sovereignty where Nepal faces great hindrance in its future.

In a country where the GDP rate that is blow poverty line and which has been marked as a under developed country, how can the nation survive with futile policies and leadership. We need education, health, resources and infrastructures not states and province. How can this debate be ended that its not about the governance or ruling its about the facilitation and how its can be managed?

If only our so called political leaders would understand and make it work Nepal could be somewhere else than this.

no one is responsible in this country

May 20 2013, the summer has just landed and with the temperatures soaring up to 20 to 30 F, people are easing with the rain. Rain is considered one of the most benefiting factors with regards to land but in the city area with concrete running everywhere due to lack of proper drainage might result in as a big problem.

Having said that I'm not against the rain but the lack of proper management of sewage system certainly makes you think where I am going.  It can be  a disaster during the rainy season  where the roads become rivers for drainage. Like such, it rained today and the roads of kamaladi were spill over by sewage that stinked and blocked the road, restricting people from commuting.

What can we say its a Metropolitan city with big corporate offices and the drainage spills over every time it rain, its one of the most pathetic examples of Kathmandu Metropolitan city (KMC) management skills. at least they need to be tight with their jobs in assuring  a proper drainage system. We pay taxes to the government for this and its is lack of carelessness shown that makes the public suffer.....

We all have to bear this in regards to no one hearing public outcry but it has to be managed as it affects us. Apart from that many of us have well appreciated the road expansion strategy of Nepal Government  but with such volatile situation of electrical wires running around you never know anything can happen.

who is responsible for public safety management ?

I don't see the government, the political parties and any other institution  then why should we Bloody pay taxes to this Government when there is no management.....................

If this is the case then why should the public pay taxes

Cheap publicity stunt or not

Traffic Inspector Sitaram Hachhethu dancing in the middle of the road
Traffic Inspector Sitaram Hachhethu was seen dancing to the beats of rhythm, might sound amazing but its true, today  morning at around 9:45am  (May 16 2013)  near the Durbarmarg police station inspector Sitaram was seen dancing and entertaining the traffic with a loud music.

It seemed as if sitaram was trying to enjoy his work but it looked as if he was doing circus in the middle of the road. One thing that was very certain was  it was not looking natural moreover it looked like a cheap publicity stunt pulled for popularity. With high influence of politics and popularity, Nepal's government administrative body is  full of talents.

May be done intentionally or not but Sitaram with such image and prestige should have at least thought about the prestige of his institution( Nepal Traffic Police).

More or less with a prestigious image and responsible trying to imitate others might not seems a good idea. In the recent past an american traffic police was seen handling the traffic dancing with a Walkman in his ears but Mr. sitaram had to do it big so he brought in big speakers and boomed the road with heavy music that at peak hour. How logical is it for a traffic police to do it in such a manner that too during the peak hours with such loud music is my question?

what can we expect from police personnel like him ?

Lokman becomes the SUPERMAN of Nepal

Lok Man Singh Karki has been appointed as the Chief of Commission on Investigation into Abuse of Authority (CIAA) by the president for six years term amid a program at office of President, Sheetal Niwas on Wednesday morning. The appointment has been hugely criticized and termed un-constitution by political gurus.

The Supreme Court on Friday has issued a stay order at the appointment of Karki till the next hearing on April7.  A single bench of Justice Sushila Karki issued the interim order to halt the appointment process till the next hearing. The apext court has also directed both defendants and petitioner to appear before the court and asked the defendants to furnish a clarification on why Karki was being appointed to head the CIAA.

The ‘High-level Political Committee’ of UCPN-Maoist, NC, CPN-UML and UDMF had recommended Lokman Singh Karki to the Chief of Commission on Investigation into Abuse of Authority (CIAA)

In the past CIAA had convicted Karki of and declared him not eligible for the government services in future. Karki was accused of suppressing the People’s Movement-II (2006) during the regime of King Gyanendra Shah. He was also accused of amassing properties through illegal means during his tenure at the Department of Customs as director general.

The student organizations including the ALL Nepal National Free Students Union (ANNFSU), and ALL Nepal National Independent Students Union (ANNISU)-Revolutionary are on protest and demanding a quick resignation and further investigation.

CIAA is the state of anti-corruption agency in Nepal.

LOKTANTRA DIWAS or loottantra

Today is LOKTANTRA DIWAS hundreds of so called shahids died for it and only few group of people  are enjoying the loot-tantra. Billions of rupees were wasted in marking and reclaiming the pride and prestige of people but unfortunately there were too many issue of party politics, people's individual ego and so many things that the country was lest prioritize. The nation should have been the priority but it was the least, our political leader made it worst indulging themselves in power politics and corruption. They degraded the pride and prestige of their name where today a the word Neta is considered a slang....

Nation first, was never a condition it was just a slogan for the political manifesto...........

Democracy believes in equality and law by the book but a country like ours that follows the rule of corruption, nepotism and favoritism, things are more biased and manipulative. We have a President who aspires to have been redeemed because of his cast, we have parties that believe in communism and they have million of dollars, our poverty rates have gone up,  reservation gives upper hand to a janjati when his percentage is less and a qualified person has to draw back because of his cast etc these are the achievements of LOKTANTRA

We need a standardization in terms of politics. Politics in education sector is wrong, political parties doing anything and everything for the benefit of their party is wrong
Country should be the priority  not the party ........

The country needs intellects not reservation, the country needs good leaders not politicians..................
I'm not celebrating this LOKTANTRA because I fail to believe in this LOKTANTRA and this system.

POLITICS SHOULD BE DONE ONLY FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE NATION ......

KYC- kill your customer....................

Most of the banks have asked their account holders to update their information in compliance with Nepal Rastra Bank’s directive of filling the Know Your Client (KYC) form where most of us think it is done against corruption. But reality is KYC is not just being done for the purpose of public it has been imposed by the US government with pressure to blacklist us if we do not take initiative against the money laundering. Nepal was in the line of being blacklisted internationally for failing to comply with international money laundering rules and regulations. The Financial Action Task Force (FATF), a global anti- money laundering body, was considering blacklisting Nepal if the government had failed to introduce a law against organized crime. In a worst-case scenario, all banking correspondence could stop, and flow of aid and grants come to a standstill.

If blacklisted, foreign banks may not approve the letters of credit issued by Nepali banks. Such a scenario will also severely diminish Nepal’s prospects of getting foreign aid and investments.

The KYC forms is based on Anti Money Laundering and Combating Finance to Terrorism regulations, that require detailed information of the account holder, including citizenship certificate numbers and issue date of the kin, including that of grandparents, parents, sons, daughters and daughters-in-law. Likewise, the banks also require proof of address or the details of landlords. Know Your Customer refers to the procedures needed to be undertaken by financial institutions to identify and understand their customers in order to detect any sign of abnormal financial activities in their account. The insistence by banks that customers provide the citizenship numbers of their grandparents has irked account holders the most. The forms that require the citizenship numbers of the customers’ grandparents and daughters-in-law seem to keep potential customers away.

The fb generation

Using facebook on one hand people have become so dull and addicted with it where as on the other people are so expressive, they are networking, exploring their possibilities and trying their entrepreneurship skill, voicing their rights, speaking about their problems etc. It has given people a common platform of voicing their ideas and thoughts and to relate them  to the issues that were previously hidden. In fact realty is FB is next achievement of the twenty first century that has socially, psychological  and individually affected each and everyone of us at different level.

The Egypt revolution, the Indian rape case and Nepal Facebook movement all are examples of people's will, determination  and interest but there was a common factor, yes it was facebook. It was through facebook that people coordinated. One idea of change that was alone and had the courage to stand found many to voices and support. It made the change possible with just the form of expression that was easy and that was limitless of any boundaries.

Looking at individual level, every individual has so much to say and express but in the run of making your life work, the feelings, emotions and expressions are overshadowed by tensions, and problems. At the end of the day your left with loads of frustration from irregularities happening around to corruption to your wife not giving you attention to everything  that piles up. FB gives you a platform where you can express yourself to be who you are and to have your say ...?

Regardless of any consequences of making it loud that you are you and no matter what you will remain the same.......

Reality of today with facbook is the only standardize platform that talks about all phase of life from politics, psychology, crime and everything. Its unlimited and due to its unrestricted ability its has scored an image of being a friend of all. A friend that listens, that awakes and that increasing the LIKES saying you are not alone.

Except for the fact that it gets annoying at times with its marketing technique of showing unrelated post of groups that you cannot stop from displaying in your  news feed but hey its reality they also need to survive and  it just for the sake of numbers.....

The fb generation certainly has a way of change, how is the way you interpret.....................

Contemporary Nepal is a possibilities of prosperity

Nepal is a developing country with an agricultural economy. Agriculture is the mainstay of the economy, providing a livelihood for three-fourths of the population and accounting for about one-third of GDP. Industrial activity mainly involves the processing of agricultural products, including pulses, jute, sugarcane, tobacco, and grain. With an estimated 42,000 MW of feasible capacity, Nepal has considerable scope for exploiting its potential in hydro power but political instability hampers foreign investment. Additional challenges to Nepal's growth include its landlocked geographic location, civil strife and labor unrest, and its susceptibility to natural disaster.

Investment opportunity: Nepal has huge potential investment opportunities.  Due to bad political condition and lack of stability, Nepal has not been able to use it resources.

Hydropower: It is estimates that Nepal has approximately 42,000 MW of economically feasible hydropower potential. However, the present situation is that Nepal has developed only approximately 600 MW of hydropower.

Tourism:  Rated one of the top ten holiday destination by Lonely Planet in 2013, Nepal is considered as one of the most friendly and naturally beautiful country in the world. Possessing 8 of the 10 highest mountains in the world, Nepal is a hotspot destination for mountaineers, rock climbers and people seeking adventures.

Transit Point: Landlocked in between China and India, Nepal has huge potent to exploit its location. Its location at times is its weakness but with diplomatic relationship there is a scope of   business opportunity if it could established itself as a Transit point in between the two super powers

Human Resource: Due to low cost human resource in Nepal is very cost effective. In the current trend Nepal has been receiving a lot of outsourcing businesses in IT sector and technology field.

Contemporary Nepal is an aspiration of the fresh blood who believes in making the country move towards the path of development. Looking at the current pretext development process in Nepal was never a challenge but the administration was always a problem.  Bad politics, corruption, manipulation etc are some of the hindrance where things are slowly and gradually changing.
The contemporary Nepal believes in the young and fresh energy and leaders who have envisioned and promised to lead Nepal to the next phase of development and prosperity. Contemporary Nepal is not just about problems but it’s about looking at the opportunities to strive back against poverty, hunger, corruption and bad politics. Contemporary Nepal is about you, me everyone associated with Nepal who believes to be lawful citizens of Nepal- in the making of good governance……..

Nepal Moving towards the Path of Failed State

Wiki defines Failed state as "A failed state is a state perceived as having failed at some of the basic conditions and responsibilities of a sovereign government. There is no general consensus on the definition of a failed state."

According to NY times, "
Since the civil war ended, after the loss of more than 16,000 lives, a stalemate has ensued as each party caters to caste, class and ethnic divisions instead of national unity. Many politicians are maneuvering to get their hands on money from foreign aid, tourism and hydropower; even the Maoists have become crony capitalists, reaping large profits for themselves and their ostensibly proletarian party. Meanwhile, the bureaucracy, army and police — historically dominated by privileged social groups that never held them accountable — are becoming even more politicized and corrupt."

After making the Chief Justice (CJ) Khil Raj Regmi the Prime Minister (PM) of Nepal, the country has automatically landed into situation of uncertainty and anarchy.
The appointment of the current CJ as PM is unconstitutional under following reasons
1. No working class civil servant can occupy two posts.
2. According to the criteria of the Chief justice he or she cannot be involved in two jobs

According to the interim Constitution 2007 state under section  106.  Chief Justice and Judge not to be engaged in any other assignment :
(1) No Chief Justice or Judge of the Supreme Court shall be engaged in or deputed to any assignment other than that of Judge.
Provided that the Government of Nepal may, in consultation with the Judicial Council, depute the Chief Justice or any Judge of the Supreme Court to work concerning judicial inquiry, or to legal or judicial investigation or research, or to any other work of national concern, for a specified period.
          (2) No person who has once held the office of Chief Justice or a Judge of the Supreme Court shall be eligible for appointment to any government office other than the office as referred to in Sub-clause (a) of Clause (1) of Article 131 nor shall such person be entitled to practice law before any office or court.

Like such, involving the ex-sectaries as government ministers by the CJ is yet another mistake that cannot be undermined.

By signing the 11 points agreement the 4 political parties have landed the multi-party political system of Nepal into political
vacuum of no revival........
         1. There is a no probability of the election happening as only four parties made the agreement of appointing the CJ . How can there be an election or  fair election without the participation of all parties?
          2. The 11 points agreement secures the position of the CJ stating that the proposed head of the government will resume his function as chief justice after he accomplishes the task of holding the CA elections, which is described as the main responsibility of the election government. Regarding the dissolution or time frame of elected government has been lapsed stating the election will end the term period of CJ after the election which is too vague.

Time and again the president of Nepal, endorsing the idea to find a solution for the political crisis failed when   Nepal's political leaders failed to provide one common candidate for the post of prime minister. They kept the steady fight of opposing one other showcasing an image of bad politics and bad political culture. Nepal's Political leaders are FAILED and the Political situation is UNCERTAIN which can result in hard consequences. This is the example of a FAILED STATE in making that lacks to recognize its constitution and  peoples aspiration. The values of the pro democratic movement have been lost in the practice of power politics and corruption. The leadership and vision of political parties have just been limited within the scope of position and government. They failed to understand the pros and cons of Nepal's economic development as well as bilateral relationship.  With high influences and interference of  foreign ambassadors  and delegates in various high profile political meetings customizes the sovereignty of the country.

Nepal's Politics has suffered the consequences of Bad political culture where there is no trust in between political leaders and political parties. The values of  Democracy and democratic system is lost in the long term practice of freedom and secularism. Reality of Today is Anything can happen in the politics of Nepal where legality is just a phrase that can be erased or manipulated ..........

In case of  election, the political leaders will need to put stability and justice ahead of power and profit, which is impossible to imagine. The past practice of  cultural  impunity and social degradation has uprooted so much that it would be hard for the new government to tackle the problem which can neither  be curbed by the new constitution nor the leaders .........

Now its not upon the people to take the decision whether they want to suffer the consequences of bad politics or create a new system that is more prune to irregularities ............................

Bus for only tourists not for citizens

Why we Nepalese are so weak ?
The Nepal government provides Bus services for the so call Tourists (goro challa) and for us Nepalese we have to walk. It is pathetic just to give service to the tourists and how it is practical to do that. Isn’t the government supporting Nepal Bandha by doing so? What about the police and resources they keep a watch doing nothing and that's just because the opposition party is doing it? If the police prohibits then later when they to power they slack the police, what a rule ..............

I feel like a second grade citizen in my own country where a citizen is being treated like this. There should be a manner of equality or else there should be no discrimination. It’s  us the citizen who pay taxes to run the government not the tourists and I can guarantee you that we pay more taxes than them then why are we being be discriminated….

The political culture of Nepal has gone insane where politics has become a tool of power and corruption. Moral, Ethic and dignity are just words limited in books which is a hard to find.

This is an example of the weak mentality of discrimination, EITHER THERE SHOULD BE NO NEPAL BANDHA OR THERE SHOULD BE TRANSPORTATION FOR ALL..

I'm inked (Tattooed) and I'm not a criminal.............

This is not just a justification but a question of substance. Why are we being so limited that our physical appearance makes us so vulnerable against police brutality. Nepal Police has been brutal towards people with just overlooking their physical presence and it is so true. In a current drive against fighting crime the Nepal police have listed long hair, tattoos and piercing as physical traits of CRIMINALS. Anyone having long hair, tattoos and piercing would be treated then and there with harshness and brutality. It is completely illogical and absurd for a prestigious organization like Nepal police to do something like this. People do have their interest and rights and it’s their rights to look the way they want just by having a limited thinking of making assumption Nepal police cannot breach the social conduct.
These days’ tattoos, piercing and long hair has been in fashion and prestigious people do carry it as a form of art and presence but the Nepal police trying to counteract it upon normal public is wrong.

The definition of social presence and alertness certainly impede us in various ways of our presentation. It is hypocrisy just to overlook the fact that tattoos and piercing are a form of art and nagging the normal pubic in case of few practices of criminals is an example of weak mentality.

How can POLICE be so discriminatory that they would treat people accordingly? They are civil servants, they have to protect and serve the public instead of that they are trying to rule in just with the sense of frustration. We condemn from our side with every little effort to say the police need politeness and respect for the public. In retrospect of their work condition we do understand that they deal with brutality but that doesn’t mean that they have the right to use it upon everyone ………..

I feel Numb trying to be and trying to follow all the social conduct but it’s my life and I live it the way I want………………….

Nepal's Prime Minister in twitter

The Himalayan times reports, " Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai has fired up the twitterati within three days of his opening an account in the popular social media site."

Prime Minister of Nepal Baburam Bhattrai writing was seen firing up in the social netwroking site saying, "Give me single party majority govt. for 5 yrs like in Bihar. If I don’t show results, you can shoot me, young friends"
I must say another publicity stunts just like the one he performed during his Mustang Car. why are we so limited in such things?  Why do we have to believe in leaders who are doing nothing and they portray an image of being good and we have to listen to them. I think its what we all have seen and understood and still these publicity stunts works.

I think its the joke of the day, PM Bhattrai you have the power and you have every means to give this country a way and why are you not investing your energy and efforts towards it, is my question. At least you can resign on the moral ground if you have so much of frustration but he won't because he is the only leader in Nepal who believes who is famous for publicity stunts.

We the people have been waiting for a stable government where we have not seen any effort from your side and your party to work towards it and you say that you are dedicated. Mr. PM how about you using your valuable time in doing something than to wasting it in updating your status there are so many things to do rather than this sort of publicity stunts.

To reality what has been believed the country is run by pashupatinath and the leaders have anything to care for because the god runs this country, so why waste time in doing anything.

I must say Mr Bhattrai you are really an intellect who know how to twist and turn the scenario. I guess you know what we all want but we don't know what you and your party wants for this country........................................

Human Rights Atrocities or a strategic Planning

Col Kumar Lama

Colonel Kumar Lama a 46-year-old Nepal Army officer, currently seconded to the UN peace keeper in Sudan, was held at his East Sussex home by Metropolitan Police officers on 3rd January 2013.He is charged with intentionally "inflicting severe pain or suffering or human rights atrocities” against  Janak Bahadur Raut between April 15 and May 1, 2005, and on Karam Hussain between April 15 and October 31, that allegedly occurred at the Gorusinghe Army Barracks in Nepal.

The arrest issue of Col Kumar Lama is a very strategic movement laid down by the developed country. Developed countries (European Union) have been trying to establish Nepal as a federal republic nation but due to complication of the political understanding, they have not been able to fulfill it. The action directly deals with the sovereignty of Nepal where a third country has no rights to interrupt in the name of justice and human rights.
Point to be noted
-Col Lama currently is a UN soldier posted in SUDAN how come with his arrest UN is not doing
-Col Lama was demoted for his action
-Col Lama had committed the crime here in Nepal why is a foreign country so interested in it
- Human Rights Atrocities issue is not a question of action but is a matter of investigation and diplomacy
-During the insurgency in Nepal, UK had supported the drive against terrorism and had helped Nepal with resources and support
- In technical terms during hour of alert and emergency the state has given a full right to the officials to detail people for interrogation and why is this issue being raised so much
