Australia Nepali Student controversy

With the cancellation of AIBT registration from the Australian government around 1200 nepali students have been stranded in Australia. The case came into action when the  Council of International Student Australia (CISA) filed a petition about the AIBT status of nursing affiliation.  AIBT was running nursing programs without acquiring certification from the required  department of the Australian government. In view of this, the Australian Government cancelled the registration of AIBT citing the wrong practice of operation against the education Law.

So the bottom's line is consultancy in Nepal were selling the nursing program here in Nepal with the assumption of the college about to get certification for the program and assuring the student of a sexy dream abroad.

so who's mistake was it ?

1. Student who fail to check the registration and followed the trend of abroad studies
2. Government who fails to give awareness
3. Parent who lack to check the details
4. consultancy who sell the cheap dream of abroad
5. Australian Embassy that fails to validate the students interest

Things to remember

1. Check the registration of the colleges
2. Check if the program enrolled to be accredited by the government
3. Stop being a ash see being smart lands you in shit
4. Listen to your parents
5. Always be wise to check and ask for pre-registration information with the college or consultancy

Song pressured to take down from Youtube in Nepal

With the controversial satirical song “Lutna Sake Lut” against corruption and misappropriation, singer Pashupati Sharma has been pressured by the ruling top political leaders and the youth wing of the Nepal Communist Party (NCP) to take down the video from his official channel. And as a result of the intimidation the singer has taken down the song from his official channel.

The singer had released the song on Saturday where the song trended the social networking site with high numbers.

Though there has been a silent reaction from the government but indirectly the political leaders pressured the singer to take down the song.

The song talks about the current corruption and the  misappropriation that is going on in the country in the name of politics. From the president to the prime minister to the ruling party the singer has blamed the corruption and misappropriation to be part of the system.

This practice from the ruling party shows the limitation and attitude of Community party towards the people's right and Freedom of expression. We live in democracy and our constitution ensures democracy. Every word that he has said is true and what kind of system is this where people do not have the right to speak the truth....

In democracy every person has the right to speak, may be the singer went to far by using the flags and other details but why are the political party and their representative threatening him. Are these the same people who call themselves leaders, who cannot hear few words of criticism and they say they represent the people.

Democracy ensure freedom of expression and freedom of speech as a  fundamental right. If the political party or leaders have a problem, they should have filed a case.

What kind of culture is this that political leaders and their cadets think they can intimidate and threaten people.

Sad sad sad the people in government need to understand this that in democracy people can stand against them and their decisions.
During this regime there has been a rise of corruption and misappropriation which is open to all and if people are citing it with their creativity and talent then let me tell you such people should not be called leaders. They are cowards ......

STOP threatening and intimidating ............................

Tootle and Pathao legality questioned

Tootle and Pathao, both the services have been very effective in terms of providing services and cheaper transportation to the locals. Looking at it from consumer point of view, it is certainly a great form of innovation and technology ending the syndicate of  taxi system that ruled the public transportation system. I am not hesitant to say this that a new system has come up with a better option but my question is if a service that is good has been defined illegal by law what should be corrective action.
  1. Keep it running for year till the time something bad happens
  2. Work on the policy and governance
  3. Give benefit of doubt when its leaders are moving around promoting their agendas of highlighting  youth empowerment which is yet a business model

Few days back the arrest of the riders  of Pathao has created a ripple about the legality of such service. The companies have been justifying their operation in the name of providing service and employment to the youth.

Tootle is a company lead by a group of businessman and Pathao is a franchise both of these company aspire to be a leader in public transportation as GOZEK and GOGRAB.
  1. The question that arises here is in a developing country like our's where there is lack of visibility of governance such services needs a broad spectrum of policies and regulation.
  2. These service have been operational here for more than 2 years. In the name of innovation how long should they be given a benefit of doubt.
  3.  In the age of technology and innovation if legality is not clearly will it be able to do justice to its service with its illegal status. As there are more issues of privacy and data that can be of concern

According to vehicle and transportation act 2049 article 8 sub section 2 , "It is illegal for any private number plate to transport people by taking money."
It clearly says there is no provision for services like tootle and Pathao to exist in our transportation system.  When the law has no provision how come such services have legal existence ?

Another question is these companies are here to make money they are not a volunteering company. They are here to make money so why aren't they bound to be accountable to the law. If they are then what is their legal status when there is no provision of existence of such service.

I think the current move of Nepal government  has opened a broad way for the amendment and development of proper policy. Defying and denying the government move is a question of  legality.

Why are the nepali people  so offensive about the role and position of government ? why cant we standardize the legal definition

KP Sharma Oli New Shoe Controversy

Nepal being one of the least developed country, it's political leaders find themselves involved in various action that are more subjected to moral and ethic questioning. These issues may not look important from the point of view from an external eye but for internal eye they are very relevant.

While attending the World Economic Leaders meeting, the KP Sharma Oli has been criticized for wearing a Louis Vuitton Shoe.

Man what the Pumpking he is the prime minister of Nepal, what is he suppose to wear a GoldStar shoe. Who knows, he might have got that shoes as a gift or he might have bought it in a sale. There are number of possibility that might have occured.

Nepalese are so dam sarcastic, they are not talking about the business class air flight that he might have taken which should be 5 or 6 times more than normal economical flight and they are talking about the shoes that he is wearing. One shoes is affordable for a prime minister. I question the GK of the person who had a question about that.

Sometime I feel so sad of all these foolish trolls and memes that goes around, one lakh shoes is within his reach people.

President of Nepal in yet another controversy

After the 180 Million car controversy, it seems president of Nepal Bidhya Devi Bhandari cannot keep herself away from  controversy. She is once again dragged into another controversy which seems very loud where she has no connection and yet she is being made the main culprit.

The new controversy is about  a helicopter which is 1 Arba 50 crores   that is like 8 times more than the 180 million car.

The Nepal government clearly gave the explanation of 180 million car to be a fleet of cars. In view of this the Nepal Army sanction the helicopter from the ministers  and has forwarded the purchase. It has been mentioned that the helicopter will be used only by the president. spending so much of money for one person is a question of efficiency and effectiveness.

Moreover, there can be issues of organized corruption of commission where Nepal Army due to its legal entity is kept away from  CIAA jurisdiction.

A country which  is believed to be a least developed country and has major issues of education, health, food, many other infrastructure, has a purchase list of billion for so called one person. How smart is that?

The political culture of Nepal has promulgated political leaders who aspires to buy new cars and helicopter at the price of people hard pay tax.

I kind of wonder if these crazy ideas of buying billion rupees cars and helicopter are ideas of a sane person.

What a joke ?

180 million car Controversy

Out of the latest update from the office of  President of Nepal, once again Bidhya Devi Bhandari is in controversy for the vehicle procurement. The Nepal Government  recently submitted the need of 180 Million for the acquring the bullet proof vehicle for the president. As soon as the news were out the social media was on fire. The whole need of expense for the transportation  was criticized from all.

The reality 1. Bidhya Devi Bhandari didn't apply for the money, the Nepal Government did
2. Nobody looked into the details of how many cars were being purchased but that doesn't justify buying expensive car in any way

Out of all the facts, once again Bidhya Devi Bhandari was dragged into the controversy due to the Nepal government competence.

My argument
1. why do we need such a budget. We are a least developing country if there is a crisis of armed vehicle why should our government buy the vehicle at the cost of tax payers money. High profile dignitaries who have the need will bring their own vehicle
2. Why is Nepal Government more interested in buying sorts of luxury item. For public they have impose 280% vehicle tax as considering Car vehicle in luxury and they are buy such big expensive cars.
3. With that money new schools and education infrastructure can be set up why the Nepal government is not interested in such activities.

Keshab Sthapit Sacked

With the increasing misbehaviors and no performance of the Keshab Sthapit the Physical Infrastructure and Development  has been sacked by chief Minister Dormani Poudel. After the consultation of CM Poudel with  Nepal Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli at Manmohan Cardiothoracic Vascular and Transplant Centre of Tribhuvan University, the decision was taken in action.
Sthapit has been sacked under Article 169 (2) (b) of the Constitution.

It was reported that minister, Sthapit misbehaved with the CM and used foul language. A large chunk of the provincial budget has been allocated to Sthapit’s ministry, but he has not been sincerely mobilising it. Sthapit’s ministry has received Rs17 billion budget for this fiscal.

The political culture of Nepal sincerely has no standard in terms of having a effective qualification for being a minister. Any one from the road can be picked and made a minister in view of how one can pitch.

The country is facing this problem not just from the one side but from all sides where for public service only the best of the best qualify but when it comes to the visionary leaders there is none criteria. Its really disheartening to such a practice where leadership is not considered or idealized in a protagonist way.

People like Sthapit may be vocal in their manifesto of the election but when it comes to the real action they lack consistency.

Rabi Lamichhane Controversy

Rabi lamichhane has been a huge media figure in the Nepali TV industry and has created a ripple in the over all journalism industry with this presentation and morale values. He is indeed a nationalist and has done some fabulous job that many of us have seen and felt.

He was issued the non-tourists visa for Nepal certifying relation with Harishchandra Lamichhane from Bhaktapur to be his brother.

Relationship Visa
Kins  of Nepalese citizen can apply for Relation Visa by producing following documents.

  • Relationship Certificate issued by local bodies establishing relationship with Nepali kin (Original and photocopy)
  • Citizenship certificate of kin (Original and photocopy).
  • Concerned kin should not be foreign passport holder and should be present in person at DOI for the verification formalities. He/she should be related to applicant by blood.
  • Passport and latest visa (photocopy).
  • Online Form  (Relation Visa) (Link to Online Visa  application
  • Relation visa holders are not permitted to work without acquiring 'Work Permit' from Department of Labour. Work Permit procedure, however starts from Department of Immigration. Contact the Department of Immigration, Non Tourist  Visa Section for detail information.

Visa Fee : 5 USD/per month

Single Re-entry facility :  20 USD extra in addition to monthly Visa Fee

Multiple Re-entry facility : 60 USD extra in addition to monthly Visa Fee

Even the journalist ethics code in  press council doesn't say anything about the legality of the journalist.

The recent controversy that he has been dragged in is very confusing about what is the problem all about.
1. Is he doing something illegal ?
2. has he harmed anyone ?
3. Has he created a social mess or anything to deteriorated the cultural harmony?

Facts about Rabi

1. He was an American citizen when he entered Nepal
2.  He was working in Nepal with a non tourist visa with relationship Visa

Out of all this chaos, what I can see is the law has been confused in terms of its practice and interpretation. Press council Nepal please be updated with the your monitoring mechanism. The Law clearly states that a relationship VISA with a work permit can be allowed to work.

President of Nepal awards her daughter during the Republic day

President of Nepal Bidhya Devi Bhandari awarded both her daughters ceremonial awards during the republican day 29 May 2018. She has been hugely criticized for this move in social media and has been  compared with the long gone monarchy regime which distributed awards to their family members and people their favor .

President Bidya Devi Bhandari on the recommendation of the Council of Ministers on Saturday awarded 56,649 persons on the occasion of the ninth Republic Day.

According to a statement issued by the President’s Office today, 370 persons were awarded with Manapadabis, Alankars and Padaks of various degrees.

It is really sad how medals and honors are being distributed in the name of favoritism and nepotism. An award or honor is a respect to the moral values that stand live example for an extra human behavior working towards the benefits of the public. Distributing honors and awards in the name of recommendations seem to degrade the value of such awards and  create an attitude of disappointment. Long gone is the past practice where the public brought in federalism for change but the attitude of favoritism and nepotism still exist in the name of such tradition that has been passed on and prolong with the governance process.

Narendra Modi Coming roads are made in 24 hrs

It is really amazing how the Kathmandu city and its  decoration is going on in view of the visit of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. To everyone's shock the Chabel Chuuchepati road which remained a nightmare for the local from last few decades was pitched within 6 hours by the road department. It was a un-imaginable things that has happened said a local. These roads were subjected to traffic and loads from past few years which was completely neglected. In view of modi staying at the Hyaat Regency the section of the Chabel Chucchepati has been pitched with in 6 hours in view of his comfort.

It is really a shame that how modi's visit turns the face of the road.what kind of management or government do we have that over looks public governance and focuses more towards other things.  isn't really sad that our department which are suppose to take care of all these things are not doing it though they are capable of doing it.

Fascinating things is this doesn't even happens when the prime minister or president of Nepal visit these place.

Looking at the trend i think we need to increase the official visit of modi to a more days so that more roads and development and can be done at grassroots level.

Qatar and Dubai Duty Free are the most expensive

I frequently travel outside my country for various conference and workshops. A couple  of times I have visited various duty-free shops around the world. Most of the times when I go outside my transit is either in Qatar or Dubai

But very frequently I have visited the Qatar duty free and  Dubai Duty free may be 6 to 8 times. One thing that I notice while purchasing good at such markets are the prices, in these so call shopping tax free shops, they have the most expensive good priced where in most cases its the most expensive price  anywhere else. It is exactly double the market value. I think it is not fair in so many context as a traveler may not know and selling the same goods even exceeding the MRP is not correct whether you have the prices tag or not.
It is something like taking advantage of traveler who has no idea and selling him or her off her money for the same goods that is readily available at a lower cost.

They are suppose to be duty free that means, they are suppose to be cheap in context of market price but in reality with all the twinkling and glitz the customer are robbed off their money.

I think in one way its  cheating the customer with the literal meaning and just creating a big fuss about the overall concept of DUTY FREE

When I was in Abu Dhabhi UAE,  I notice something that the prices of alcohol in UAE were way cheap at the local store. Though you need a licence to buy alcohol but it was way cheaper, I mean to say a Chivas cost around USD 20 where as the same would cost me USD 40 at the Duty free.

Even in Qatar where i had a transit the situation was the same, the prices are whooping high where there should have been relatively  less.

I was very spectical as this is duty free country where the government has declared tax free in major import sector and still the prices are so high.

Why should a traveler who is  willing to buy or create business should suffer ?

Free WIFI by KMC in Kathmandu

Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC ) has installed free wifi at public places which many of you might see it as a free service that one is getting. But from a cyber security perspective giving free wifi at public places without registration is the most insecure step towards making a system vulnerable from attacks and threats.  to be very precise, it makes the people connected more vulnerable and more prone to cyber attacks and other cyber crimes.

When you use a open and free network there is always a risk being attacked as there are no measure to secure your line. You never know who all are connected within the network and what kinds of software they have so being open in the open network is completely out of logic.

The best way to secure yourself when you are using a public wifi or open network is use a Virtual Private Network (VPN) that safeguards your details.
VPN extends a private network across a public network, and enables users to send and receive data across shared or public networks as if their computing devices were directly connected to the private network. Applications running across the VPN may therefore benefit from the functionality, security, and management of the private network.

I think before giving free wifi the KMC should considered the risk of cyber security and further work towards raising awareness of cyber security within their departments and then to the public.

It may look or sound as a simple step but it can have drastic results

Organized crime rising in Nepal: High profile people targetted

After the cold blood murder of Sharad Kumar Gauchan the President of Federation of Contractors’ Association of Nepal, the security situation of Nepal seems to worry everyone.  What rich, what poor you need to be sacred of the GUNDARAJ or the organized crime that is currently evolving within the  country. Every other political party has an affiliation and every other  gunda is being offer a safe passage through the political system.  Even the Gunda in the corner has a political affiliation and every other police man has a soft corner  with a political party. In such situation what can we expect.

Gauchan  was shot dead by unidentified group of people in the mid-day at the center of the city Kharibot in Shantinagar on Monday on his way to office at Anamnagar.  Why did this happen ? In a country where the gun and ammunition are illegal with in the reach of public except for few how could a high profile person be shot dead on a busy road and no body cared...........

He was attacked near his home where his car was first attacked with a brick and 3 rounds were fired at his head and chest. The shooter were professional who aimed for kill shot and as per the current investigation people fail to note the number of the motorcycle and the face of the shooter. After the attack, the attackers flee on a motorcycle.  He was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital.

According to police, “Gauchan was being threatened and was being demanded money by Ramesh Bahun group who had reportedly asked for donations from Gauchan recently. Similarly, a person had called in to take the responsibility of the attack.”

Organized crime seems to be growing where the political parties and political leaders are giving way for such criminal to further expand their work and abilities. The police is limited with in the walls of law where as money and power hugely influences their  work.

Gauchan was elected president of FCAN in 2014. He was also the vice-president of International Federation of Asian and Western Pacific Contractors’ Association.

PM Sher Bahadur Dueba Please stop making fool of yourself

Recently Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba addressed students at World Leaders Forum Colombian University program  where he was asked to face many questions of the students.
Showcasing his poor skills of  English, he demonstrated a very sad and deprived image of lack of competency and skill. For a head of the state being not able to speak English is not a question of competence but trying to fake it is a question of intelligence and competence. He demonstrated a  limited image of why Nepalese leaders all over are treated so badly.

If you cannot speak English then please do not try to fake it. Mr. Deuba it is not Nepal that what ever you do will escape by saying it will work. You are representing Nepal in an international forum and if you cannot do that than you have no rights to even represent.

The more you try is the more mockery you make out of yourself. so before going to any international  event either take a translator or go to school and learn speaking english.

As soon as you land to Nepal start working on your speaking English it is not like scolding a student in Nepal, you seriously need to work on your speaking skills.

A victim of Trolling for being an Internet Activist in Nepal

I had never thought  that someday I would be trolled in a way where my work done for awareness would be used in a in significant way of hampering others. During 2015 I made this video about Local ISP susbisu for their bad internet service and it was uploaded in youtube for awareness purpose. The video can be viewed below which is in a pure form of Freedom of Expression(FoE) than any hate of speech.

Recently last week on out of the blues, I started receiving friendship request on facebook and people were putting in questions saying did you made the subisu video. I was surprised to know why people were after my video that too after 2 and half years. The thing that happened was one of the hackers hacked the subisu website and integrated my video there.

The news went viral and facebook pages trolled my screenshot where people assumed me to be the hacker. I was kind of overwhelmed to the fact that I knew how to handle the situation but it made me feel the vulnerability of how our content and system can be manipulated in desired way.

There is not point of argument about if the hacker  is right or wrong but my concern is my content was for awareness purpose only and to speak up about quality of standard or bad service. I felt abused in many ways of how we upload content and how it gets used in desired ways.

Budget spending at the last hours: A question of efficiency for Nepali Government

As reported by the himalayan times this year the nepal government spent Rs 218.85 billion in the last month of fiscal year 2016-17, that is from mid-June to mid-July. The government spending was Rs 604.64 billion in the first 11 months of the fiscal, which rose to Rs 823.49 billion by the year-end. In between the 10th and 11th month, government spending rose by a whopping Rs 94 billion. The government’s development expenditure increased by two-fold in the last two months. Spending under development budget heading was Rs 90.24 billion by the end of the 10th month of the fiscal. Expenditure went up to Rs 120.1 billion by the end of the 11th month and surged to Rs 204.31 billion by the end of the fiscal year.

Every year the fiscal year of Nepal starts from Sharwan to Ashadh ( July to June) which is in the midst of the rainy season. Every year at the last hour millions of the budgeted amount is poured in various development projects blindly just for the sake of the budget being freeze or lapsed.
The money which should have been used for efficient  management of development work  always lack proper utilization and management in view of last hour. Whether you call it the lack of efficiency or lack of bureaucracy leadership and vision  the development works are forced in view of few months where every things is done.

It is really sad that how the public hard earned tax money is spent in view of the work. Public governance is zero at ground level where political leaders work for the political mandate,  bureaucracy work for their job performance only.

Sad reality the money which should be spent efficiently and effectively is spent just for the sake of spending which highlights corruption and many other externalities.

Bidhya Devi Bhandari Car scandal

The presidential’s office has proposed for a budget of 160 million to the Nepal government for buying a bullet proof car for the president. It is very sad that in a country with a total population of 30 million and  which has been listed in the least developed country, the office of the president demands the need of a such huge amount of money just for the transportation vehicle. Moreover, if you look at her career or history you would not find any kind of threats or any security issue that she needs such a vehicle.
The Nepal Government has already agreed to provide Rs 40 million for the purpose, the President's office last week proposed  the Ministry of Defense (MoD) to arrange an additional Rs 120 million budget to buy the car of President Bhandari's taste.

According to Republica Daily , " The estimated cost is based on the initial price assessment report prepared by Nepal Army (NA) which has been asked to procure the vehicles. NA reportedly came with the proposal after holding preliminary talks with some car manufacturers."

Just imagine how many schools can be renovated or how many schools can be built in the remote and rural areas. It is not her money its people hard earned tax money which needs proper accountability and transparency .

The Political culture of Nepal has degraded in the luxury where political leaders are more concerned about their facilities and services  than the benefit of the public. It is a very well seen culture that every time a new minister is changed or reinstated, they want a new car and services.

The bottoms line is they do politics in the name of social service where as they use the power and position for their own service  and facility. Ego, corruption, favoritism and Nepotism has become a culture of the system.

What a shame ?

Please do not call yourself  the head of the state call yourself the tax payers money termites

Chudamanui the Tax god

Chudamani Sharma, the  Director General of the Inland Revenue Department was arrested by
the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority(CIAA)  on charges of  corruption on fixation of revenue for various big organization.

The CIAA on preliminary ground of investigation  arrested Chudamani and has  requested a bail amount of Rs 3 billion  which is the highest ever bail amount.

It has been reported that Sharma was involved with  embezzlement over Rs 9 billion and has opened  investigation on  120 files containing higher amount of tax exemption. The anti-graft body has been probing into over 1,000 files related to tax waiver by the TSC.

Chudamani do you consider yourself as a Tax god or what ?

Then why would you do such an act of immoral value which slacked the Nepal government's earning. Did you seriously though that you would escape your act of  shame ?

This guy seriously has the nerve to handle corruption in a more legal way.....

Blood transfusion is not safe in Nepal

According to the breaking news published by the Himalayan times,   "People face HIV infection from the normal transfusion as there is no availability of the test kit to detect the infection of HIV during its window period. What that means is If the blood donor is in his window period of infection, he/ she can pass on the infection to the blood receiver. As it is not detectable in absence of correct test kit. The receiver can get infection. The window period test kit is know as Nucleic Acid Amplification Test which is very expensive.

Sad reality is right now in the international market such window HIV test kit are available but right now here in Nepal it is not used or available.

" यसको अर्थ रगत जुन हामी सुरक्षित छ भन्छै त्यसबाट #hiv सङ्क्रमन हुन सक्छ "

SHERE the new Prime Minister of Nepal

Sher Bahadur Dueba has been declared the 40th Prime Minister(PM) of Nepal. With the political understanding and alliance the parliament  declared him the PM of Nepal on tuesday. The problem here now  is whether to call him the new or the old PM. This is his  fourth time that Deuba has been elected as Prime Minister  from 1995 to 1997, from 2001 to 2002, and from 2004 to 2005 in the past.

Deuba secured a 388 votes in his support while 170 votes were cast against him.

This year he was very much surrounded with controversy with
1. Nepal police IGP recommendation of Jaya Bahadur Chand
2. Impeachment of Chief Justice Sushila Karki

Due to these controversies, Nepali congress lost  the local election in most of its areas.

Awards and Recognition
1. He was sentenced to two years in prison in July 2005 under corruption charges, but was subsequently released on February 13, 2006.
2. King Gyanandra Sacked him for his incompetency in 1 February 2005

So what can we expect from Sher Bahadur Dueba during his tenure  ?

1. Incompetency
2. Corruption
3. Inflation
4. Anarchy
5. Nepotism

Mahabir Pun Selling his awards for the funding of National innovation center

Mahabir Pun the Social Entrepreneur of Nepal has commissioned for his private conferred awards to be auctioned in US for raising money for the establishment of National Innovation Center in Nepal,

In the past pun who has been fundraising for the operation of the National Innovation Centre, has announced he will donate 28 ropanis of his land, located at Thulakot Danda, Kaskithe worth Rs32 million for the purpose.

Sad thing is he has donated all his awards for the fundraising where Nepal Government is silent about the issues. There has been no statements issue by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment of Nepal.

What is the role and responsibility of Nepal government? If an individual is trying to do so much at least the government of Nepal should try to facilitate ?

What are they doing except making worthless policy and regulation? When we have billions stocked up in the name of Rural Telecommunication Development Fund and nothing is being done why can't we use that fund for the benefit of the citizen of Nepal ?

Nepal Election 2017: A political Game for stakeholders

The Nepal Election 2017 has successfully completed first phase of its ordeal, highlighting the uncertainty and chaos.  Once again creating a situation of  political deadlock the  Supreme court has intervened in the political truce of interrupting the Madhesi union aspiration, Nepal is again back in the path of Political unrest. The truce has been broken where the Madeshi Union (MU) has announced protest program and has given ultimatum to Nepal government to adopt the new constitution amendments bill or else to face the consequences.

The MU has openly challenged the government of foiling the second phase of election that is schedule to happen from June 14 on Madeshi territory.

The election was merely a chapter of democracy and practice of democratic values where all the stakeholders are bargaining  their powers and commitment.

People voted but they have been framed in the political aspiration of creating better system where more or less the Nepal election proves to be a successful political gimmick. People want to practice their democratic rights and they are farmed in the name of political deprivation.

From the elite political parties, it was just an intervention of identifying their role and perspective of creating better alliance for the formation of new government where they can manipulate the position. Various aspect of tokenization of Women was also seen in terms of lobby young and inexperience candidates in various positions by political parties as a trending option of political bubble.

The European union and developing organization (INGOs ) were more focused in securing the rights of indigenous/ minority group with substantially pushing the role of representative in the local level election as a compulsion.

The MU is more focused in creating issues and agendas of being deprived and unwanted collecting sympathies from the international communities.

The Nepal Election is hugely subjected to a dilemma of collaboration between the MU and the elite political parties. The trust has been broken with the new interim order of the supreme court on Friday which clearly states a new polarity of 3 angles

1. Madeshi union
2. The Government of Nepal
3. The Supreme Court of Nepal

It seems the political culture and political leadership of Nepal  has no sense of  commitment towards the public or democratic values. It is all about the power and  manipulation where alliance and agreements are formed just for making or running the government. Public governance and cooperation is a limitation of  system that is more neutral about practicing values of Nepotism, corruption and favoritism.

Nepal's Political culture establishing supremacy

One after the other Nepal's political leaders are practicing the culture of "Anarchy" and are trying to establish their supremacy over the governance mechanism. In any administration system the operation works with bureaucracy, legal system and constitution. Now looking at the Nepal's perspective the political leaders have frustrated the system so much that neither the bureaucracy nor legal system and constitution  nothing is active.  They have made the system handicap of taking any action against them.

In any country there is a check and balance system that marks and checks the credibility, & accountability of stakeholders and leaders . With the impeachment as a tool of attack the political leaders are targeting people who are standing in-front of their way.

This is not  good development in terms of political culture if you look at it from the outside perspective it is creating a dangerous situation where peoples frustration is piling up.

Firstly the impeachment of Lokman  Karki and now Sushila Karki normal citizen are trying to understand the importance of impeachment and its used. It seems Impeachment is like a chocolate where 25% of the parliament support can filed a case of impeachment against any government leadership.

Getting back to sushila Karki, the working modality of sushila karki to some extent has been very political as the controversy of IGP appointment and appointment of Judiciary council  certainly shows how she made the decision at the middle of the night. Even if you look back she has been surrounded by controversies.

How can we understand the fact that for a normal citizen it takes years and years of compilation and frustration to get justice and for high class people and high ranking official its done at the middle of the night.

I am not saying Sushila karki's #impeachment is right but the question is, if there is no standard and equality then there is no level of law
Law is equal for all if not it is not law

They shut lokman with Impeachment for trying to raise his hands against UML leaders now they are doing it against sushila.

Cheers

Nepal election sets new records for young candidates for mayors post

With a long wait of 17 years, the local level election fever hits Nepal in an unprecedented way. The long awaited election still seems to be suffering an ill  faith with limited political support but the election fever seems to be rising in the candidates.

Most of the political parties are getting ready but with the orthodox and prejudice values, the new political parties are coming up with new candidates who are not only young but they seem relatively new to this field.

The Bibeksheel Nepali Party which has recently rose to popularity has been challenging the orthodox political mentality of introducing new and young energy to leadership position. In this run the party has nominated 21-year-old Ranju Darshana to run for the Mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City in the upcoming local level elections slated for May 14.

As per the party, Ranju was selected for Mayor post on behalf of the party based on open candidacy policy. Whether a publicity stunt or not but putting a 21 years old to the position of mayor seems not convincing. People may see a new trend but they will certainly have issues with the decision making capacity and strategic planning process.

Supporting the youth and giving power is the need of the time  but a mayor position is more strategic and concerning in terms of experience and education. Its not that I do not support the youth energy but I strongly believe in the right candidate at the right place than such for placing a candidate for the sake of it.

How can it be justified that giving a young candidate the post in view of young energy ? what would be the difference between the orthodox mentality of power absorption and nepotism concept with the concept of putting new candidate just for the sake of it.

What is the difference in between the old and the new political parties as in both cases the decision would be ruled in by the parties and their leadership than the candidates?

Nepal will vote but we need to broaden our vision and strengthen our  mentality.

No Horn Campaign in Nepal

The Nepal Traffic police  recently launched its no horn Campaign in Kathmandu from April 15. With the launch of the campaign the public vehicle are  hugely affected in terms of their driving behavior. Previously when public vehicle use to dominate the roads with their loud horns, now with no option of driving slow they are stressed in terms of managing the issue of pedestrian and on going road maintenance process.

On one hand due to the maintenance work it is very hard to see with all the dust cloud where as with no horn there is no option to even drive which increase the risks of accidents. Similarly, pedestrians in view of lack of awareness use the road sides randomly for crossing roads and other purpose where the chance of accidents have increased tremendously. The campaign is certainly a need of the time  but enacting it right at the moment is a question of real-time study.

Why people are suffering?

  1. People do not feel responsible while crossing roads
  2. Road etiquette are non existences
  3. Even educated people still have no awareness about zebra crossing and traffic rules
  4. Lack of  Zebra Crossing at major location
  5. Lack of traffic lights
  6. Traffic police are not aware or prepared

Free Holiday in Nepal: all Thanks to Bidhya

The Nepal Government has announced a public holiday on 17 April and on her return day. This is Bidhya's first state visit abroad after assuming the office in October 2015. She is visiting at the invitation of President Pranab Mukherjee. Bidhya was scheduled to visit India in May last year, but it was cancelled after the then cabinet in Nepal did not endorse the programme citing lack of preparations on the part of the government. She is scheduled to meet  President Mukherjee, Vice President Hamid Ansari, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Rajnath Singh, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and other leaders.

It is really annoying why the Nepal Government is Announcing a public holiday when we already have so many public holiday listed celebrating the diversity and cultural ethnicity. The outrageous trend of announcing holidays in the name of political apathy has crossed all limits where the normal public have to suffer the consequences. Yes its the same old story, the roads will be closed and there will be so called security protocols followed. Nepal's political culture practices an orthodox blowjob act of eccentric behavior which may boost their morale but it suck from all sides.

I really do not think what has bidhya done to deserve this honor, she is merely a politician with interest

Kathmandu's Forest Risks Deforestation

It has been reported that the forest in Kathmandu has been risked deforestation with private development activities. After the success of Chandragiri cable car, Private sector in Nepal is very much showing interest in developing infrastructure in the name of tourism and development to exploit the forest area surrounding Kathmandu valley . With the controversy of Chandragiri Cable Car paying pennies as royalty for the use of the forest, the application at District Administration Office for building private recreational structures  have gone up.

It is estimated that 50 hectares of forest risks the possibility of deforestation.  Many projects have applied for the use of forest for building infrastructure in the name of  development at various location in and around Kathmandu valley.

It seems with the lack of knowledge and limitation of future vision Nepalese political leaders are blinded by corruption and favoritism. In many cases they have allotted forest land to private firm with the authority of using such forest as a means of earning revenue which high risks deforestation and the diversity of the forest.

#SaveTree campaign is an eminent project which needs to be incorporated in the awareness campaign of Nepal's political leaders who need to be aware and vigilant about the current climate change issue and its impact but sadly with the limitation of educated and quality leadership, Nepal's fate lies in the hands of  some deprived leaders who have no loyalty towards this nation and its future.

Govinda Gautam Killed by SSB

Govinda Gautam of Nepal has been declared a Martyr by Nepal Government in view of him being   killed by Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) on 9th march 2017.

It was  during a scuffle in between the locals and the force that Govinda was shot dead. The SSB troops entered Nepal in view of quarrel of a Calvert bridge constructed in the boarder for easy commuting purpose. Argument started when the SP of the SSB riped off the pavement on the bridge. The local were aggravated as from the Indian side the broader has been  encroached.

It has been noticed that from past few years the Nepal's bordering pillars at the boarder of Kanchanpur has been  destroyed by anonymous groups creating a problem in the boarder area.  The locals of Nepal have been complaining about the SSB troops violating their rights and have been entering Nepal in view of broader security threatening and using violence against the local people.

According to locals SSB  had entered the Nepali side and shot  Gautam, Gautam died  while being rushed to the Seti Zonal Hospital in Dhangadhi. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Home Affairs Bimalendra Nidhi on Friday declared Govinda Gautam,  a martyr. Nidhi also announced a compensation of Rs 1 million to the victim’s family.
The Indian embassy in Nepal has denied the killings and have further have shown least concern about the issue. Likewise a reputed Indian Media  Indian Express  has written, " National Security Advisor Ajit Doval today telephoned Nepal Prime Minister Prachanda and condoled the death of a Nepalese man in alleged firing by the Sashastra Seema Bal and promised a probe into the incident that has sparked anger here. Doval, who made the phone call to Prachanda on behalf of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, said Indian authorities have initiated a probe into the killing of Govinda Gautam."

Saptari Killings was purely Human Rights Violation by the state

Rayznews reported " On March 5th four United Democratic Madhesi Front cadets have been killed in a firing by Police trying to disrupt the protesters in #Saptari. The  Communist Party of Nepal United Marxist Leninist was schedule to hold a rally in Rajbiraj  where the Madhesi groups oppose the CPN UML  party.  Top CPN UML leaders like KP Oli  Madhav Kumar Nepal, Lal Babu Yadav, Satya Narayan Mandal, were the leaders who  addressed the assembly. It was reported that the  UDMF protesters  violently attacked  security personnel and obstructed vehicular movement through out the day. In retaliation the police attacked the protesters and  shot dead four people during the process. In awake of the killing the UDMF has withdrawn its support from the coalition government and has declared a indefinite shutdown program."

The Recent #Saptari killing shows the weak mentality of how Nepal Government witness use of power against the innocent  villagers and minority group. It is very well testimonial that how our leaders and people in post do the wrong choices of misusing the power in favor of few  who are incapable and who are living in poverty.

By saying this I am not in support of the violence of the Madeshi Morcha, I strongly condemn their act of violence and do not justify that but I am not supporting the kill to shoot and Human Rights violation that happened in Saptari, Nepal as well. HUMAN RIGHTS STANDARDS are the basic standards that have to be followed  at all times, if the state or state representative fails to recognize this then who will follow and how will we ensure HUMAN RIGHTS for all.

From an individual citizen to the president, our Constitution guarantees the right of #equality. Just because someone is an ex prime Minister doesn't mean he or she should be prioritized on the top list of Human Rights standards or human right issue and for his comfort the whole nation's #HUMAN RIGHTSSTANDARDS should be undermined. It should be the same for all at all level and at all counts.

My point is law should be enacted to all and the constitution protects the right of every individual
in respect to his or her position or  education or level in safeguarding his or her basic rights.

It is Democratic right of every citizen of Nepal to have the right to protest or to have your voice. It is the fundamental right but why is it just limited within the reach of people who know law, who are educated and who have access. The current act of Saptari clearly should #brutality of armed police force against the Madeshi people only. I live in Thamel every now and then there is a big chaos and hurdling of stones that goes around in government colleges located near by but I have never seen policemen firing guns or even using force. Most of the times the students are so aggravated that they peddle stones and they use violence but the police never pushes them to the level of  Human Right Violation.

MY MAIN QUESTION IS WHY THIS DISCRIMINATION ?

Having said above statement I am also not constraining the right of CPN UML leaders of publicity or reaching out to the public but the major question is when there is an outcry of an issue why are the CPN UML leaders persistent about creating a fuss about their publicity . They could have stand down in terms of understanding the current tension in Madesh. The people feel they have been betrayed or they feel they are marginalized. It is our duty to  reach out to them and understand and bring them in dialogue  rather than aggravating the situation. so why this political game ?

They knew the situations, they knew that things were very violent in Madesh then why CPN UML was persistent about their rally. What was their real intention?

In few of the TV interviews, I heard the government representative saying if bullets were not fired then the situation would have got out of control and resulted in TIKAPUR. I was really surprised to even hear such answers from officials who have swear in to protect the rights of people and they talk like this.

What was "TIKAPUR KANDA" we have to understand the whole story first.  It was a politically staged drama that went out of control with the public sentiment fueled in by political dumbness.
There is a huge difference in between what happened then and what was happening in Saptari. I think now with that situation it was very easy for officials especially in Madesh to fire arms in account of TIKAPUR.

If the Government or Government Representative do not follow the HUMAN RIGHTS STANDARDS than Who will?

If we trust in DEMOCRACY people should have the right, there should not be discrimination. No Human Rights violation should be tolerated at any account or at any level.

What a Joke: only 11 % of budget finished after 8 months

It has been reported that only 11% of the total budget that was allocated for the fiscal year 073/74  has been released for various development work.

This year  the Nepal government had  raised the salary of civil servants by 25 per cent in the next fiscal year which increase the total salary amount  by 26.9 per cent to NRs 132.3 billion. The government had plans to spend NRs 140.7 billion in post-quake reconstruction and rehabilitation.

Similarly, NRs 10 billion has been allocated for the construction of the Kathmandu-Tarai Fast Track ; Gautam Buddha Regional International Airport had allocated NRs 7.2 billion; NRs 5 billion had  allocated for Pokhara Regional International Airport; NRs 4.2 billion had  allocated for the  construction of Postal Highway; and NRs 1.50 billion  for construction of Second International Airport at Nijgad.

It is really shocking that after 8 months the only budget spent is only 11% of the total forecast.  so what is the problem?

The Nepal government priority is only government overhead cost which include salaries and other daily operation cost only, other than that are just merely expenses which are adjusted and managed creating overheads.  Below are the problems listed:

1. Lack of clarity of planning and operation
2. Finance Ministry of Nepal lack of efficiency
3. Leader of Nepal Fail to raise the problems in Parliaments
4. Huge gaps in between bureaucracy and leadership
5. high level frustration in Bureaucracy
6. Lack of Open government
7. Lack of clarity in core values
8. Orthodox management and operation process
9. No accountability to public governance

Apart from this reality is Nepal's political culture focuses more towards party politics than nation first ideology. In every sector people are bound to suffer due to lack of public governance. From government services to facilities to tax system, Nepal government has created a complex system of  orthodox and prejudice values where political leaders are creating unwanted situation and  political chaos which is not hidden. Corruption, favoritism, nepotism and minority quota has become political agenda and political agenda.

Nepal Army showcasing fire crackers on Army Day

The Nepal Army celebrated its ARMY DAY on Shivaratri. Every year the pristine organization celebrates ARMY DAY with huge excitement showcasing its technology and various level of skills and activities among its personnel and dignitaries.
This year the celebration included a fire cracker show which was surely an excitement to the public but looking at it form the perspective  of an environment and  sound pollution  way it certainly seems arguable about why wasting so much of in such a way.

Nepal Army is the discipline institution which follows the rule and regulation of Nepal government, so using fire crackers which has been restrain to public access during festivals certainly sounds impractical.

Another aspect to the argument is Nepal Government prohibits the use of fire crackers especially during the festivals of Deepwali on the basis of sound and environment pollution. The same rule does not apply on the government organization like Nepal Army simply shows how the hypocrisy works in creating double standards. Likewise, even the organization which has always been the pride and respected among the public should have restrain its fire cracker show in view of its image.

How can there be two standards that effects public directly?

Does #nepal needs such controversial issues to promote #VisitNepal Campaign ?

Recently, Sahana Bajracharya an elite VJ and public icon shared these messages on her twitter account. It was appraised and shared by hundreds of her followers on social media  and created a buzz among the Nepalese community. When I saw these messages I was quite not offended but I didn't feel comfortable about those messages.

The first question that came to my mind was why  all these complication. People love Nepal for no reason they come here because its beautiful and people feel good and natural about Nepal. Using such campaign with such background of hatred and negativity, it has its share of baggage as well which can be chronic and contemplating.

Good or Bad, I think Nepal is something which is beyond such controversy. Nepal is famous in the world for its natural beauty and serene environment. Apart from that Nepalese are also known for their genuine attitude and nature. Why would we want to capitalized trump's issues of negativity and hatred  when we have our own share of goodness and so many other things to explore?

With such campaign comes the pros of buzzing in the social media for a short period but its also has a wide side of criticism where the aspect of capitalizing on issues of racialism and negative attitude can be very costly.

#socialmediacrisis is a unwanted situation of creating scope of problems and complexity with wrong interpretation and unwanted justifications. The possible solution is to avoid such acts by building a credible image and strategy of social media without by passing hard work and efforts.

Jeopardizing a national campaign or even creating speculation for cheap marketing strategy is not a good marketing strategy. It can be a instant success but at times can and will result in sad  and unwanted  consequences as well.

New home for the president of Nepal but no home for Earthquake victim

Nepal's President Bidhya Devi Bhandari  has shifted to the new palace built by the Nepal Government where as on contrary the same Nepal government has not been able to distribute the billions which it  received for the reconstruction and rehabilitation program of earthquake victims of April 25 devastating earthquake. After 2 years people are still waiting for the money where the Nepal government leaders are still playing politics in the name of victims and the issue.

I think this is one of the most satirical issue where thousands of earthquake victims are living under the sky with temporary zinc sheet and the head of the state is shifting to a fully furnished luxury palace. such a pitty !

Following a safety assessment, technicians put red stickers to the rear part of the residence.
Nepal’s Rastrapati Bhawan, was declared unsafe for use by a technical team after the building developed cracks due to the devastating earthquake of  April 25 2015

The president was living in a prefab home built in the compound of sheetal niwas

Unilever Nepal bullying Nepali soap market

From a  source, I came to know that the current Animal Fat awareness campaign which is currently being run in radio and newspaper is financed by Unilever Nepal. Breaking news is they are planning to launch their own range of animal fat free soap. As part of their aggressive marketing campaign  they have launched this customer awareness campaign where they are targeting print and audio media with the whole concept of first driving the people with awareness and then launching their fat free soap.

On one hand this campaign certainly shows the unhealthy competition in the market where the big organization like Unilever uses such campaigns and power of money in favor of capitalizing their own benefit where as on other it is really sad for smaller industries who have been struggling to survive as they have no option.

Good or bad driving people for a certainly motive this campaign has its pros and cons on the table. I think the Unilever Nepal should not radicalize this issue in such a way creating bad impression of the whole industry. The way this marketing campaign has been pushed showcases the aspect of business world vs public welfare. Since this issue is very closely related to people's belief and culture the Unilever should not push it hard. It should have been put it in a more shuttle way giving option to the people.

Playing it indirectly, they are trying to capture the market but hey its a open world where cost, quality and comfort matters.

If you can give a product in lower price with a good quality the product is genuinely successful. Aggressive marketing campaigns like this at times can have serious consequences.

Government Attorneys boycott their session in court

The Nepal Government attorneys are boycotting their court session protesting against the recent appointment of high court judges by judicial council from Sunday.

Government attorneys and trade unions at  the Office of the Attorney General (OAG) have decided not to participate in court proceedings including hearings.

The controversy started when the appointment was claimed to be highly political and un-justifiable in may ways. On January 13 the Judicial Council lead by CJ Sushila Karki  appointed 80 judges at the high courts with 37 from district judges, 27 from Nepal Bar Association and 16 from joint secretaries and secretaries. The controversy started when the news broke out that the appoint was done at the middle of the night with only 3 members involving the appointment process
The Judicial Council currently has 5 members which is chaired by Chief Justice Sushila Karki.

Chief Justice Sushila Karki has been drawing controversy as her term period is ending, one after the other she has been putting question mark on the issues of management and administration of Justice system in Nepal.

The lawyer fraternity has been blaming the process to be very political and unjustifiable as the people who have been appointed are not reasonably qualified in terms of experience and quality. They are demanding a fair appointment process with no politics.
