Agendas of 2017 for Nepal's politics

Nepal's strategic location has made it a political ground for various forces and stakeholders to be a prime target. It's stability and control is a question of hindrance in terms of how these forces will counter other stakeholders, so they always want a situation of chaos and crisis here.

There are hidden forces and various aspect of issues that directly and adversely affect it's diplomatic and trade relations. To top it off Nepal's political leaders are wasting people's time and money in the name of Governance and #democracy. It's a small country with multi-diversity why are we giving more and more options of creating fraction of the country. We have the last option of public memorandum. Why aren't we using that?  Let the people decide, why let a bunch of looser decide the faith of 30 million people.
Today's democracy is the result of 16000 people who lost their lives in the name of #civilwar and thousands who have lost their childhood.

The truth lies hidden in shadows, now what is the reality & what should be the priority for 2017 is the main question. Nepali political leaders have proven that they are worth nothing. These are some of the agendas....
1. #Monarchy
2. #Federalism
3. Directly elected PM
4. #Looktartra (multiparty Democracy)
5. Truth and reconciliation of 16000 people killed
6. Political culture of Nepal
7. No public Governance in Nepal
8. Pendulum Reconstruction & rehabilitation process
9. Education level in poltics and their capacity
10. Demonetization of INRs
11. Truth behind #Lookman
12. Impractical & costly Education system
13. Migration of young people for remittance
14. #Tourism suffering low consequences of sad #leadership
15. SDGs for INGOs and their big budgets & programs
16. #ClimateChange issues for donations only
17. Infiltration of politics in students
18. Foreign Aid policy
19. Traffic lights in Kathmandu
20. High tax system (land & vehicle)
21. Local elections
22. State restructuring process
23. Digital Governance & Awareness
24. Removal of syndicate in trade industry
25. Right of citizenship & power
26. Women's rights to #equality

32. #ICT4D master plan
33. Development of infrastructure
34. Hydropower and it's management

Russian Ambassador was a victim of faith or strategy

I am not totally convinced how easily the Russian Ambassador to Turkey Andrey Karlov, 62, was shot dead by a  gunman, for the Syrian issue. The whole story seems to be very easy to accept in terms of how diplomatic world has started taking their security so easily especially for a country like Russia that is considered to be world's developed nation.

The assailant identified as Mevlut Mert Altintas 22-year-old assailant was also shot dead by the police where he shouted “Don’t forget Aleppo. Don’t forget Syria!” after shooting.

The things that are very fishy are
  1. Why was the security of the Russian Ambassador so vulnerable?
  2. There seems to be a big security loop hole as it looks very staged
  3. The Syrian issue certainly points out a definite issue of tension going on in-between Russia and Syria which is totally uncomfortable to accept
  4.  The culture and religion issue
  5. This man is young, so how come he handles the crisis situation so well, I mean to say he seems to be very well prepared and he has all his markers ready
Killing anyone in any name of country, religion or any form of discrimination is wrong by anyone. Human Rights are the basic standard code and right of every individual in this earth which needs to be practiced at all times with respect.

500 and 1000 INR worthless

The Indian 500 and 1000 notes has been a major issue of concern for all. It has been weeks that the Modi led government introduced the new notes abandoning the old Indian notes of 1000 and 500. As soon as the notes were declared obsolete the values of money were seen randomly  going down. 500 rupees were being exchanged for half. Even in Nepal the bank prohibited the exchange of acceptance of the 500 and 1000 notes but out they were exchanged for NRs 500 and Nrs 1000 easily out side in the black market. The fall of  money not only showed and proved value of black money.

I think the move made by the Modi led government is an excellency move to strength the economy but with limited resources and infrastructure its haunting the normal public. Modi jee if you want to control black money first you should also build a wall in Indo-Nepal border.  Most of the money that comes in Nepal is illegal through the legal way, the situation is so complex ounces the banks of Nepal starts to accept the old 500 and 1000 notes for exchange you will know why and how much INR is here in Nepal.

Trakariwali of Nepal and her way to fame

Kusum Shrestha Tarkariwali

Chaiwala -Arshad Khan
Social Media is creating various options of Viral popularity where people are getting attention and their share of acknowledgment. In one or the other form, the use of social media is helping reach the millions whereas on the other it's also making people believe in their dreams.

Few months back,  Arshad Khan of Pakistan amazed the world with his looks. The viral image took Arshad Khan to the fame of chaiwala. The blue eyed chaiwala famed the world of modeling instantly after his photo went viral.

Similarly, in Nepal  Kusum's candid angle picture centered the world to innocence and harwork of a common woman in Nepal. Within seconds the picture went viral and kusum an ordinary girl of fishling was known to the world as Tarkariwali.

Call it her luck or fortune, she garbed the attention of millions in the innocence and hardwork . One thing we all have to understand is the fame of life is very limited to the how we live it. Kusum needs to understand that one photogenic picture is not going to make her life good. She has to make this opportunity the best where she can use her skills and further make it worth.

There are examples in the world where people have been crazed to fame with one photograph and today the same photograph is the issue of life and death. People rise to glory at the same time many of them even vanish.

Afghan Girl -The Image of Sharbat Gula that featured in the
National geographic of 1987
In this history of fame, one name that I have to mention is the name of Sharbat Gula, the "Afghan Girl" who was famed to the world in the 80's but today her same fame has put her in bars. Currently, Sharbat is in jail of Pakistan where she was arrested for acquiring an illegal citizenship. She was a war victim who has refugeed under the Pakistan territory but in 2013 her identity was revealed to the world.

Social media can be a powerful tool of communication and networking but it depends upon how you use it. If you use it as for information, communication and networking it works best for benefits but if you try to exploits it in terms of  getting bad publicity or popularity it can backfire you creating a more vulnerable situation.

Pranab Mukarjee Visit to Nepal creating anger among citizens

The Nepal Government has officially declared a holiday on November 2,  during the arrival of the 18th Indian President Pranab Mukherjee. He is arriving in Nepal for 3 days state visit where highlighting security issues the Nepal government declared a state holiday.
It would be the first of Indian President’s visit in past 18 years.
Huge criticism was seen in social media regarding the decision where the people opposed the idea of declaring a holiday. One day of national holiday causes huge financial loss where most importantly public are bound to suffer the consequences. People have been questioning public governance in Nepal.
It is clearly a state of submission of Nepal's politics where Nepal political culture has no stand and it is run by the counterpart in terms of vested interest. There are strict solutions but why giving a full day holiday is a question of concern.

Maybe the current conflict of Indo-Pak can be an issue of security concerns but putting a financial liability in terms of Nepal's economy is not a proper decision made by the cabinet of Nepal.

Shame on you President Bidhya Devi Bhandari

It has been reported and pictures have surfaced in various social media about the Nepal Army assistance picking up shoes of president Bidhay Devi Bhandari and her family members. It is not just once that this has been witnessed but pictures of various occasions have surfaced showcasing Nepal Army personnel picking up shoes of the president and her family.

The Nepal Army has been proving the president with various level staff for various purpose in terms of proving assistance and support towards the position. But the pictures that are surfacing are telling different stories of  orthodox mentality and how these people are exploited in the name of their daily work.

We live in 21st  century where equality is the basis of our human rights. Making people work inhumanly highlighting low respect and treating them with discrimination is a crime.

No matter what they are civil servants and they should be respected not just as an individual but for the organization that they represent. by such acts, it clearly shows the lack of political culture and orthodox mentality that still resided in the political hemisphere of Nepal.

Bidhay Devi Bhandari may prove to be the first woman President of Nepal but she fails to be a true leaders who has no respect for a civil servant and a poor Nepali.

Shame on you Mrs President

Sushila Karki Vs Lokman & in between people are suffering the consequences

It seems like a joke when you hear the Lokman Singh Karki's case. It is completely insane and  extending like a chewing Gum where now Sushila Karki the chief justice is playing her cards.
As you can see the headlines that the Supreme Court on Tuesday recommended action, including imprisonment for 15 days and Rs 1,000 fine, against one of its junior officials on charge of dereliction of duty and two employees of the Kathmandu Metropolitan City Ward No 10.

I do not understand why the public servants are being targeted, its a open war in between Lokman and Sushila Karki why are they fighting their battle with the help of power and position.

Just to prove the facts:
The SC decided to review his appointment as the CIAA chief, the notice asked Karki to be present before the SC himself or send a representative along with whatever evidences he has within 15 days of its delivery. Karki, who was appointed as the chief of the anti-graft constitution body for six years in May 2013 amid big controversy, will now have to be present himself before the apex court or send his representative within 15 days.

"Advocate Om Prakash Aryal had filed a writ petition challenging Karki’s appointment.  A division bench, however, on September 24, 2014 quashed Aryal’s petition that sought revocation of Karki’s appointment."

Recently responding to a latest writ, a division bench of Chief Justice Sushila Karki, Justice Bishwambhar Prasad Shrestha and Justice Sapana Pradhan Malla, on September 16 observed that there was fault in the two year-old order.

The Justice trio said the case over Karki’s appointment would be reviewed as it raised a question on constitutional provision about high moral character sought for the constitutional position and whether Karki, who served in the Palace for six years, two months and 10 days, was eligible for the position.

The Justices observed that considering Karki’s service in the palace for the 20-year service criteria fixed by the Interim Constitution for the appointment in the CIAA was against the Principle of Constitution Construction.

Aryal has asked the SC to see if Karki, who was accused of corruption and held responsible for suppression during the People’s Movement II during the royal regime, was eligible to be the CIAA chief.

It's completely illogical how the chief justice is taking it back on Lokman. Lokman in the past has been furious aginst  Public figure Kanak Mani Dixit who was accused of holding foreign bank accounts, share holdings in international banks and occupied illegal government property by the CIAA.

After the arrest of Kanak Mani Dixit, Lokman took some outside measure where Sushila Karki was not comfortable. The revelation of Sushila Karki being relative of Kanak Mani Dixit wife further lands her in moral position but she has been smart enough not to acknowledge that and not obeying her orders certainly seems like her ego is hurt. The tussle in between the power and position has certainly created a situation where reality cannot be ignored that there are thousands of cases that are pending and still waiting for the hearing where a case of no value is getting so much of importance.

This case certainly highlights the credibility of Nepal judiciary system and how much it is politically motivated. I am not supporting Lokman but I am in favor of taking out personal grudges at this level.
She certainly proves to be a weak leadership.

It is really sad how the Supreme court is challenging its own system and creating problems. It is not only hampering its own image but due to weakness of such leadership it is staining the image of the whole judiciary system.

Gagan and his controversies

In recent years, Nepal’s political culture has seen changes from variation of leaders who have come from vested interest to being burden to the name of leadership. There are few who have spoken thunder words and when the time came they did nothing. Just like that Nepal's political world has again seen some changes in facing the so called political changes where a young political leader Gagan Thapa has been made Health minister. Gagan who is in his late thirties represents the young group of leaders who have been seen pointing fingers at their own party of orthodox party politics and sad political culture.
Though regarded as a dynamic youth leader but his popularity decreased with the limitation of his controversies.
In his past he was seen voicing issues against Ghaite, one of the most wanted criminals in Nepal police who was shot dead by the Nepal police. Ghaite was a hardcore criminal who was politically linked and Gagan was seen voicing human rights issues against the killing of Ghaite. Apart from that in yet another controversial issue, he was seen supporting “IAMWITHDRKC” Campaign.

This campaign has been going on since past few years in context of bringing transparency and accountability in the health industry. Prior being a minister he was noted and reported voicing support to DR KC’s campaign but now after being the same health ministry he is silent about the issue.
May be he is working towards studying the issue but from his side these days he lacks speaking anything about the campaign and the whole issue.
I think Nepal’s political culture needs a fresh starts where morale, ethic and values need to be recrafted within the political culture and practice. If you look at current practice political leaders of Nepal like dogs, they bark in ways of catching attention but when it comes to action they are like balloons.

The lack of leadership and the generation gap in Nepal’s political culture has frustratingly resulted in involvement of crime, corruption and compromise of public welfare where political leaders are busy in creating values for their post and position. Public welfare has just been an issue of debate and controversy that not only gives them opportunity to manipulate. Nepal needs new face for leadership in defining the role and governance of public welfare. Public governance or welfare need better address in terms of real time action and practice. Government’s role should not just be prescribed to limitation of bureaucracy but should be proactive in safeguarding the rights and responsibility of people.

Once again demeaning and insulting add

There has always been biasness in regards to cultural values and tradition in the context of protecting one's language and culture. We are very sentimental and enclosed to our heritage and tradition. Especially in the context of Nepal when you talk about the big brother attitude of India, time and again we have encountered advertisement insulting Nepalese community. This has been a major issue of the anti-Indian feeling where bullying another community in terms of making mockery is just not new. It has been part of the entertainment industry where Nepalese people and their community have to face this. India is a big country where Nepalese community and Nepali Language  is a part of their region and time they are subjected to such kind of acts.

From the Gurkhas bridge to the history of people who are world renowned in the world for their heritage of bravery have been insulted time and again in the various form of showcasing weak mentality.

The Gorkha Samaj in India has filed a case against Indian Online Shopping Company Flipkart accusing of presenting a Nepali minor as a sentry wearing  a Nepali Bhadgaunle cap, constituting disgrace to the entire Nepali community in the world, reported Indian media.

Nominations of Ambassadors pulled back

The Prachanda Led Government has withdrawn the nominations of 14 individuals for ambassadors. The government has widened the distance among the political parties after withdrawing the names while the nominees were waiting for the parliamentary hearing. The meeting of the Council of Ministers on Friday had withdrawn the names of 14 individuals from the nomination as they were recommended by the previous government.

How practical is it that every 9 months the government will be changing and every new government will be withdrawing the name list of people forwarded for the position by the previous government.

The current practice by the Prachanda's led government has shown a sad practice of political culture and difference in between the political scenario of Nepal. By pulling off the people, they have shown the bad politics and manipulation in the name of leadership and power.

In Nepal, the political culture is highly influenced by nepotism, corruption, power and manipulation, where people and their voices are the last steps to the main objective of position and power.

Aditya Dahal, Google boy receives 10 million from the state

With controversy, the KP Oli led Government on Friday has decided to provide Rs 10 Million assistance to the Aditya Samrakshan Pratisthan (Aditya Protection Foundation), an organization formed to take care of Aditya Dahal, the Google boy.

The Cabinet meeting approved the  decision to support the five-year-old  boy who suffers from physical disabilities since his birth. He recently returned to Nepal from San Francisco after a medical tour which was supported by the Nepal Government.

The Nepal Government favoring Aditya has certainly questioned the transparency and public governance in terms of social welfare.

After the decision, people have taken their frustration to social media where they are raising voices aginst the decision.
Why should Aditya's foundation be supported by the government ? He is not a star nor a social personality who has contributed to the society. The government's decision of helping the foundation certainly highlights a lack of transparency and vision.

People have been questioning the government about the decision. The reality is if the government starts to donate 10 million to every foundation like this, There are more than 1000 foundations registered which are genuinely working for the cause.

What would be an impact for those organization who are working for the cause, shouldn't they all be getting the same amount ?

Fake Certificates are not a problem but needs better solution

These days the Nepal Government is interrogating and investigating certificates of most of the bureaucrats and other professionals in cross checking their validity. The Nepal Government and its concerned Departments are checking and confirming the originality of certificates obtained from various institutions which was submitted by the officials while applying for civil servant post and other important position in public welfare policy.

It is certainly wrong  to obtain an advance degree or to apply for a job on the basis of false certification or certificate but with a huge numbers turning around, it seems like a chronic problem.
Every other individual in a government department is coming up with the issue, it seems there is some problem with the overall education system of Nepal which is stagnant and rigid towards adapting and listening the voices of public.

So what is it that makes the people use fake certificates?

  1. Limited orthodox course study
  2. Lack of vision and expertise in designing the education system
  3. Lack proper policy
  4. Lack of development and research
  5. Lack of leadership
  6. Orthodox mentality of education and knowledge based on certificates
  7. Lack of proper skill based education
  8. Limitation of  growth and development of industry
  9. Certification more powerful than skills
  10. Public policy weakening
One of the amazing thing is these people who are allegedly caught with fake certificates are skilled professionals who are currently working in the society with high reputation and high performance level. Its not that they are not doing their job properly but its their credibility and accountability on the part of their morale and ethic that has been questioned

I think its one of the major problem of our society that has a preconception of  focusing and understanding the importance of high marks and percentage. when you score a high marks you have to study science or engineering, it doesn't matter what the interest of the child is but his scores matters. So these kinds of preconception have been predominant in practice. Similarly, the tendency of focusing certain field of study to certain marks and percentage is also another problem where a child scoring less percentage has a restriction of joining management and humanities only. I think its these pre-conception that are ruling and motivating the use of fake certificates.

By saying this I am not in support of fake certificates but I am against the orthodox education system that manipulates and produces students that are like vegetables. I am against the education system that fails to update against the modern development and growth where knowledge is pride more than certificates.

"Apart from that specially if you look at the trend of migrating workers every other person has a fake certificate as one of the government has set normal standard of education for applying through the legal channel to be minimum SLC and they acquire it by paying a minimum amount of money, " said a Foreign migration" agent in condition of anonymity.

Likewise, it is a sad situation in this country that it requires no education or standard to be politician but it requires a top level mindset and competency to work for the Nepal Government Bureaucracy.

One cannot just image when a non educated illiterate politician  would advice a MBA joint secretary to do a job properly. One can just imagine the frustration and level of absurdness.

But this is reality and what has been happening people who work professionally need certificate but people who are responsible for the public do not require any level of education

Ban the Military Grade Guns from public reach

United States(US) has always been very liberal and open  about its gun policy. Every now and then there has always been a great debate about the gun policy  and its regulation. Similarly, every time when there is an event of mass massacre or killing, the issue of public access of Arms has always confronted the public policy of US with a hard hitting punch of reality where it has been escaping the issue under the scope and role of personal security.

It's a sad reality but US government has been ignoring the reality behind the fact that more and more people are getting killed due to easy access of Arms and ammunition than any other cause.

Looking at the mentality of people in US, the point of being safe with a gun is more prized then the point of guns falling into the wrong hands which is more vulnerable  seems radically ignored. I am not an expert in management of legal arms and ammunition  and its law but I feel the public should have limitation and regulation in terms of  access to the military grade weapon. I mean to say its military grade that is optimized for maximum performance which needs to be understood and researched. There is no point in arguing whether there is a right to security or not but giving access to the public to military grade arms is something like giving ticking time bomb to a kid.

The Orlando shooting in the pulse restaurant is yet another example of weakness of the limitation of gun policy. Omar Mateen, used an AR-15  a military grade assault rifle to kill 49 people,  and 53 more sustaining injuries. As of now report suggest Mateen legally purchased the two guns used in the attack from a shop in Port St. Lucie two weeks before the shooting.

I believe US being the most powerful country is vulnerable when its comes to its internal policies, it need to open up in terms of standardizing the policy and facilitate the public with the priority of security only.

Kalo Pothi a different movie in the face of Maoist struggle

Watching #KaloPothi was yet another pain in the face of #Development, with so many awards and critically claiming to be one of the best movies but I was fairly happy with the movie. I felt the movie was made targeting abroad screening and for international awards.  It was more of a story of a small boy who went through the violence and stress of social cultural barriers. One thing that I like about the movies was the entrepreneur skill and the rich casting. The movie moves around the whole story of a Hen and I guess it prioritizes and symbolizes the role of females in our society and their struggle for upliftment as well.

The movie run around the time of  2001, during the  ceasefire. Prakash and Kiran, are two young boys in their teens who are close friends and study in the same school. Though close friends but they are culturally  divided by their caste system and financial position. The whole story moves around the friendship of  Kiran and Prakash  and about the missing hen left by Prakash's  sister who join Maoist in view of her social discrimination and poverty. The duo start their journey with in action and events of the fragile ceasefire and social discrimination.

A very simple story with a different angle, I must say. Right now the Nepali movie industry is following into the league of capitalizing the trend of indigenous people and focusing more towards cashing the popularity of dalit issue. The movie is also more aligned of getting more edge over the international awards and cultural aspect of emotionally blackmailing the viewers.

Gauging more to the climax, It focuses to a different perspective of a young boy who experiences  the trauma of seeing, feeling and being part of the violence and killing. The movie niches down to an attitude of a common man mentality and cultural difference of Mugu where the great cinematography and story-line rules in. Though the movie is a lame in its beginning but it hits back in its climax with the scenes. In discrete way of understanding the racism  and difference of cultural upholding but to a brighter side it also shows the importance of education and how people of lower communities are taking up education as a solution for their upliftment.

In view of the violence the movie also takes into account the illegal killing and sad story of innocent people who suffered the consequences of being part of the Maoist struggle.

Though various International Development organization and other Non Governmental Organization have been lobbying the issue of cultural discrimination but  the movie highlights a different image of a #Dalit or indigenous people studying at the same local school. It may be a cliche to the whole aspect of social cultural debate but poverty is something that certainly has a price and its very hard which is the same every where.

The movie majorly focuses on the perspective that widens the horizon of how minority group of people  adapted the trends of struggle and #Violence  during those days. It depicts the gap between the real political scenario of what happened and how it was portrayed.
#Equality survived ages of contemplation in the brink of #Change
where it searches new meanings of adaptation and social collaboration

A perspective of the unknown eyes that seamlessly searches for the basic, a boy felt and wanted. It was just some smiles of happiness that perishes in the bloods of innocent people fighting the great #Janayuddha or the political constipation of power and regime...

"Kalo Pothi is the first Nepali feature film to be featured, nominated for and win the International Film Critics’ Week of the prestigious Venice Film Festival. "

No Governance at public Departments of Nepal

If you talk about the current situation in most of public departments of Nepal then its very sad in terms of providing services and facilities. Though these department  are established with the motive to provide  public with  services and facilities  but then  there is a huge gap of  corruption and nepotism that goes around. These public departments are not monitored nor are the Civil servant staff trained to treat the public in proper way.

It always my way or highway where the public are bound to suffer the consequences of bad services and facilities. Today #WED2016  I went to the Department of Transportation and Management (DoTM) for my pollution sticker. I was firm about my rights and what I need to do so I was not framed but despite that I was asked to use and I refused it.

I believed that for change you have to stand up from inside, so my take was that on Environment Day 2016 no matter what I would take the Vehicle Pollution Test and get a green sticker. It is my responsibility at individual level to promote pollution free vehicle and I think what better to do it than today.

While waiting for my turn, I was surprised to hear the stories of People and the current agent trend that is adapting upon the public services which is directly promoting corruption to a new level.

You cannot make things happen or cannot do a public work without the agents. You have to pay extra money to hire an agent for the quick services. If you try to do the job yourself it will probably take ages not because you will have troubles knowing  the public but the staffs won't cooperate. The problem here is not the cooperation but the adaption of the agents services in public services and governance. These agents are so powerful that they have their own affiliation and working strategy.

The staff are  rude and they just out lash their  frustration upon the public like anything. It completely  impossible to even deal with them at person level.

Another sad Aspect of sad public governance is the public line up from 4 AM for the application submission of driving licence and still after waiting in the line for hours they are turned down depending upon the random number of application accepted by the DoTM staff.

Sad Reality but yes there is no public service or governance in Nepal.

what is a BLOG?

Personally, I think Blog is a form of expression in a desired way. It is a free way and will of expression that has no limitation of boundaries. You blog because you want to express and that's what make it beautiful. It's you and your voice with no minimum level of adulteration of any sort of fake expressions.  It has no interpretation and meaning, it is your voice for the action and things happening around you. It is closely related to a distinct human behavior that is more subjective to resistance and survival.

As said we humans survived the evolution process because we could always fight and voice our will. I guess blogging is yet another adaptation of will and survival that has evolved in the most protagonist way in materializing the form of a skill.

Its a free will of connected words in creating a meaning.

I think its the inner side of your voices and experiences that comes out in available form of communication or social media or through your actions. Defining and contrasting it within a pattern or limitation is not a blog but a more precise form of tactile writing.

To be very specific blogging may be an interest but for most of the people its a repercussion of interest that comes with a feeling of expression. It may be a series of expression but it has various sides of collaboration and condition which needs to be understood.

As per person and case, Blogging comes as an addiction to speak against action or against impunity or writing in terms of easing your thoughts and cognitive process.  The visibility and clarity  of what you see and  think is something that completely affects your blog.

You can just release your frustration or anger with your words that are more effective to express in terms of human behavior.

I say "Blogging is a silent art of fighting that has more power and conviction to fight against impunity or for justice."

Everest at its peak of its limitation: 464 people in 4 days

Opening after 2 years, this season Everest seems to be overcrowded with people and more excitement. After the  devastating earthquake things have completely changed, the numbers have gone up with more people coming back to scale Everest.  It has been officially reported that around 464 climbers, have been scheduled to climb Everest in the next four days. Surprising but its true, though many tourists and climbers died last season during the devastating earthquake  still the name and fame of Everest has not gone down. But 464 people in 4 days seems like over the top number but the reality bites. I think the Government of Nepal needs to seriously think about these high numbers. Its a complete exploitation of the natural resource and pushing it to the limits is not a good sign.

Royalty can be an effective revenue generation but every step that marks Everest leaves behind some form of climatic and carbon trace at Everest as well. We need to evaluate and think about the consequences of crowding people at Everest. It is not a joke that so many people are living and breathing in that ecosystem  that is so fragile and delicate.

Now when the climate change is directly affecting Everest region the huge number of people interested in Everest certainly adds more problem to current. It may look good from the income generation perspective but from climate change and ecology perspective its harshly affecting the delicate environment which is build upon thousand of years of conditioning.

We have to think about the image and other impacts,  its not just the people, its their waste, their carbon foot print which make a huge difference rather than the royalty that they pay.

The whole Everest region ecosystem is on the verge of risk  due to various contamination in such condition the numbers shooting up certainly showcases how careless and blind our government is towards Everest.

Water crisis hits Kathmandu with no option

The recent climate change and the drastic climatic condition has resulted in drought in the nation. Though there has been a crisis situation created in major parts of the country but still the Nepal government is silent about the issue.  The traditional water taps that were regularly supplying water have gone dry since last month while the population continues to increase as people migrate in view of money or find work.
From earthquake to blockade to this water crisis  Nepalese are bound to suffer the consequences where is no option and people are bound to pay more money. The scarcity has created a black marketing situation where water supplying companies are charging money randomly as per clients.

The water crisis  of Nepal is taking an unprecedented toll on the people where they have no option to flee. As the country recovers from decades of civil war and a devastating earthquake, it is imperative that there should be permanent solution be discovered in terms of management of water resources in the country.

The arrest of Kanak Mani Dixit by the CIAA has brought into lime light the issue of Foreign Aid money and the manipulation in terms of managing and utilization of foreign Aid.

The CIAA recently arrested Kanak for amassing property  and money by abusing his authority through his organization. His role during the  Jana Andolan 2063 and lobbying secularism in the country was a well conceptualized strategy of  the western world who wanted Christianity to be established in the country. He was backed by various agencies and  embassies  where the various transactions proves his involvement in the process of making the political scenario volatile.

According to a press release issued by  CIAA, “He was taken into custody by the  Commission  as per the legal provision of Section 19(1C) of the CIAA Act, 1991. The making of a Miss Nepal and their new ways of presentation

Miss Nepal has always been into controversy in one or the other way. From women activist to the wide ranger of other controversies related to women empowerment, its always a new idea and thought of contradiction.

May be, it's not because people love criticizing or may be  it's because miss Nepal represents the women of Nepal, a pristine representation in terms of empowerment, leadership, morale values and so many other qualities. She is not a normal person and she cannot behave like one as millions of people are follow and admire her so she has to be perfect and glorified in every possible way of presentation and preparation .

It is quite overwhelming sitting at the center stage and addressing  the crowd which might seem challenging but with the training and groom up session  you just have to suck up all your fears and abnormalities and give your 100% or else your out of the league.  I guess pressure is something which these girls face from the day one and its the 1 % of what they have to face as after the competition you have to face the 99% which come with the package and label of being a Miss Nepal Contestant  or in case of winner then its more dramatic in every possible way of adjusting your whole lifestyle.

I guess the responsibility of being popular and Miss Nepal is more than living up for your identity, as things do change overnight to be a star and to face the country with being the idol and star of hundreds and millions.

May be this is the reason why people expect high standard and so much from  Miss Nepal winners.

Talking more about the raining Miss Nepal 2015 Evana Manandhar she sounds like a 50 year old mature woman with a  soggy attitude who behaves  like one. I do not why but during her speech itself she was impounding that they concurred the international events that they all participated but let me tell you Evana you didn't. You didn't bring back anything expect a personal experience nor did you do anything special during the Nepal earthquake. Though I can understand your limitation of being Miss Nepal 2015 but  you could have mobilized the resources and network very effectively.

Now talking more about the current miss Nepal 2016 Asmee Shrestha what a lousy pick. I think the judges were drunk or they were under influence, How can a woman who says she would blind fold herself for a king represent a woman of 21 century  and on contrary to that in the next answer when she was asked about the reservation she support equality and denied the support to the quota of woman reservation.

What is wimp?
A modern woman of 21 century is all about standing up for herself leadership, being free from prejudices and she is saying she would marry the blind king and be blind. what an answer.....

I am amazed with the decision and surprised with the judges how and who made those sad judges.

Give me a break !!!!

What kind of woman idols are we setting up here for young women to look at.

This years Miss Nepal 2016 looks more confused about her own values equality and rights.she is just a frog in a well.

Let me tell you Asmee Kathmandu is not Nepal. First you go to the rural villages but you have to know their state and condition.

Miss Nepal represents the best of the best beauty with brains.

Nepal Government is raising money for rebuilding the national heritage and Iconic landmark

It is really sad to see how the Nepal Government is raising money for rebuilding the national heritage and Iconic  landmark. It has launched a public campaign My Dharara for crowd fundraising and established a bank account.

As the April 25 earthquake certainly shook us in terms of awareness and preparedness of conflict and disaster management. The Nepal Government proves to be ridiculous silly in raising money as there has been so much of funding and donation received in terms of Reconstruction. Till now from various donor and foreign aid agencies have promised to contribute around 6.7 billion USD for the reconstruction process where many of the donor have kept their silence due to lack of transparency and accountability  issue.

Personally I feel sad that Nepal government is doing this public stunt for proving its credibility.

Social media adapting political parties in Nepal

It is quite amazing how politicians of Nepal are using social media for various purpose. Leaders are setting up their Facebook fan page, political parties are creating their groups and pages which is very very interesting.
Although only 12% of the country's population has direct access to internet, it is estimated that around  3,411,948 internet users are online everyday in Nepal. With such limited number and limited service the popularity of social media and its use has increased exponentially.

Even during the 13th National General Convention of the Nepali congress a huge efforts were seen in promoting their candidates. The supporters were genuinely doing an effort in creating a buzz for getting votes promoting their political manifesto and agendas for future.

The use of social media has increased phenomenally during the last few years where once the social media was accused of being a worthless tool of blaming and accusing the politicians. If you look at the trend these days Nepali political leaders are more twitting and facebooking of expressing their voice and reaching the public.

Nepal's political culture is yet to change but with the shift of social media politicians of Nepal are more aware of current issues and public voice which is clearly visible.

Nepal's Toursim after Post Earthquake

‪#‎NepalToursim‬ and ‪#‎CulturalHeritage‬ indeed has prospects in Nepal, After the devastating earthquake there is more prospect of finding better solution to Nepal's Tourism than prolonging the issue where the relevant departments and ministry seems to be silent in doing any effort. Reality is Nepal's Tourism  Leadership saw a shift which should have been an eye opener to work towards better future but still after the new appoint things do look the same.

Its the same old system and same old people they lack leadership and vision about what to do?
when to do and how to do it ?

Nobody has to tell us about what we need to do at this time of crisis but the thing is are we doing it ?

Tourism is a service industry that works with better coordination of public private sectors, its the only sector that has less investment and high revenue generation capacity increasing the optimization of resources.
After earthquake there has not been any progress in terms of strengthening the tourism  industry in any ways. For your update a project Name NepalNow was being launched by a private initiation where NTB is still trying to engage with it. Most of the content in the project focuses more about promoting Nepal after the earthquake.  we need more projects like these where NTB has to take a lead, its not that we do not have resources but there seems to be a huge gap of WHAT...

Hello!
It was for earthquake and it is over now let's think about re-branding the tourism industry with better marketing strategy, social media strategy and product positioning. Nobody seems to be interested, i guess its the way how it works here

Everyone is pointing the other way trying to look for solution within others, it seems nobody wants to work for the industry or do their jobs properly.
but in absence of proper infrastructure and ‪#‎management‬ , things are in a ‪#‎denial‬. At this times of ‪#‎crisis‬ , I think we ought to do a reality check, for what is happening and what we need...
So what does it takes to improve the industry?

  1. Who is going to take care of the Airport TIA in terms of customer support, cleanlyness, services available, transporatation, security etc
  2. Similarly, what about the restaurant and hotels, the prices are very high these days ?
  3. Tourist Security is indeed yet another problem. There has been rise in minor cases of fraud and other iregualrities after the ‪#‎nepalquake
  4. Regarding ‪#‎trekking‬ TIMS needs to be upgraded with better tracking technology. ‪#‎Transperancy‬ and clarity highly recommended
  5. Visibility of ‪#‎volunteers‬ and their operations need to be segregated. There is a very high number of volunteers who visit Nepal just for ‪#‎volunteering‬ . They need to be acknowledge & verified
  6. Proper system of information desk required at major tourist arrival spots
  7. Location mapping and signs at major tourist spots needed
  8. Promotional and information materials availability is lacked
  9. Development of Informational system that guides and helps a tourist is needed
  10. Easy communication channels need to be set up for tourists (FM/Radio/TV/social media)
  11. Promotion of International and adventure sport with high efficiency and effectiveness

I think it's high time we ought to think about preparing for future and start working for tomorrow.
We cannot sell and beg with earthquake always
We have to start from somewhere, it's better we start today

King Prithivi Deserves recognition to his contribution

In the past, Poush 27 was celebrated as the National Unity Day in Nepal , But in view of the past revolution, people have forgotten the importance and contribution of King Prithivi Narayan Shah.

Nepal to be a sovereign country came through a great process of unification and diplomacy where the role and leadership of King Prithivi cannot be forgotten. It was his vision and leadership that aspired the unification and brought this scattered nation into one nation Nepal. His contribution cannot be forgotten where he holds the pride and passion of a true leader.

Today in the modern Nepal the political leaders have adapted the  negative aspect and have created a wrong system where corruption favoritism, nepotism etc are rising.

On one hand people have been suffering and on the other political leaders are manipulating the situation to further create a situation of chaos and instability where they can politicize the situation.

The leaders have forgotten those value of  nationalism and are more motivated to do selfish party politics.

Their main agenda is divide and rule, to prove this logic one can clearly see how they have created differences among the public in the name of religion and rights. They are targeting the vulnerable groups in giving them boost to their aggravation in suppressing their true right and empowering the wrong people to power.

The current need of time is
1. Right to Education
2. Right to Food
3. Right to Health
4. Right to Human Rights
5. Rights to Security

If you look at current practice then you will see how uneducated people are being empowered in the name of  politics. A knife is a powerful tool which can be used in and against as per the conscience.

Its high time we realize where our society and political culture is going.
